I know it's nothing compared so some, but this is one of the biggest spiders I've seen in person. His body was so fat it really freaked me out. Of course it looked much more menacing with it's legs extended but I had to protect the family and gas it.

FUUUUUUCK THAT. My heart dropped when I saw that thing crawl out. Ugh, I hate spiders.

I hate spiders...they all die too if they look at me cross, or are in my home.

We are prone to all kinds of spiders, but Black Widows and the Brown Recluse aka "fiddler" spiders are def in our area. You wouldnt want to be bitten by either species.

Dont google image search "brown recluse spider bite" either..

Spider are great as long as they are outside and not crawling on me.
I love the photos. They are probably the best monsters on earth besides most other insects in magnified versions.
They are always in our garage and I have learned to smash them with my fingers and bare feet.

For all the press the Goliath bird eater gets, they were much easier to work with than many aggressive tarantulas. These are two of my least favorites. They are both FAST, like have you ever seen something move so fast you weren't sure it even moved at all? Also highly aggressive and more than willing to bite you. While not as poisonous as some spiders, you do not wan't to see just how bad they are.

I've handled big spiders before including a bird eater. Even tho it was a calm example it was still un-nerving to have a big spider like that on your arm. I prefer snakes. You can atleast tell when they're pissed off before picking them up. Having said that tho, tarantula bites (if you're not alergic to it) are not as bad as say a 6'ft carpet python. I still have a bit of scar from the one I got in the 80's as a teen.

I would have to disagree. I got hit by a super tiger reticulated python in my rib cage. 100% my fault, it was in its feeding bin and I turned around to kill it's lunch rabbit and when I turned around its head was about 2 feet above the rim of the bin. Before I could react it hit me in the side. Luckily most of it's body was still in the feeding bin and I didn't have to deal with constriction. I was pretty black and blue with soreness for a week or two but all in all it was just another bite. The worst bite I ever received was from a golden monitor and the plates in it's mouth opened me up pretty damn good, got antibiotics for that one. The one Indian ornamental bite I saw however caused poison induced plain for days that I was told felt like his arm was on fire and would not go away or subside. He couldn't even sleep. I also saw a Thai cobalt bite through someones finger nail. Again, extreme pain and nausea. The idea that Tarantula bites are not dangerous is a bit misleading. While you are unlikely to die sans preexisting conditions, you sure as hell aren't going to forget a bite from the more venomous ones. I would rather take a bite from a tarantula though than a hot snake. A guy I know who is big into hots told me that gila monster bites are by far the worse and he has been hit by a cobra and an eyelash viper.

Love carpets though, we used to breed some amazing jungle carpet x diamond python mixes.

This fucking freaked me out. I saw the one on the wall above and behind the seat, but that one under was extremely big and fast!

I know a guy in Texas who I am FB friends with.

He raises spiders from eggs. Its like, his thing.

We collect Toys, etc...

He breeds and raises wild species of spiders.

While I was breeding herps, we had a guy who was breeding tarantulas. That's where all my experience with these guys comes from. Spiders though, that would be crazy. Baby spiders are so damn small. I wonder how he houses them after hatching, seems like they would go cannibal if not given room to spread out and such.
