The cool cube shots from INV2 finally motivated me to post some shots of my shelves. I rotate the stuff here periodically, so it's up for change soon.

Image

Far left: Rumble Monsters x Rockin' Jelly Bean - Pharaos 2nd. The robin's egg blue with purple spray reminds me of that Easter candy. My favorite Pharaos of all the releases so far.

Front: SB - Hachi Otoko (Nise Rider ver.) and SB - Skullbee "Victory" Bee. This set just looks great together. Maybe one day I'll find the Cocobat Joe homage Hachi Otoko, too.

Image

Near left: Wonderwall "Kaiju for Grow-Ups" x David Horvath - Flatwoods Monster (cloaked ver.) and RealxHead w/ Pop Soda - Ekitai Ningen Pop Soda.

Center: TTToy - Grus (Lava Flow ver.), Prodon (Night Sakura ver.) and Gulgo (1st color).

Far right: Bwana Spoons x Gargamel - Killer (1st ver.). Waiting for his fudgie buddy!

Some of the comments that I've received from co-workers include:

"Wow, you have a lot of toys." (I just laughed. Tip of the iceberg, my friend.)

"Hey, I recognize those, they're like Kamen Riders. The rest just look like Pokemon." (Ouch, my ego.)

"These are expensive, aren't they." ("Yes.")

I like the display cases, especially the one with the Killer in it, makes him look alive :D

The display cases dive them kind of a museum quality.

You must work in a creative atmosphere versus corporate. The corporate cogs that I work with, would never be able to wrap their heads around Japanese toys.

those cases are great looking. i'd love to be able to focus on a few select pieces of mine like that but i'm far to obsessed and crave the chaos of my packed shelves. it must be great to be able to just look up and focus on one for a few minutes and go back to work.

Love those shots!

The killer looks like some cool science exhibition display.

The flatwoods looks like he has a really bad case of claustrophobia.

Actually, I just do that to keep the vinyl smell in. When I have a rough day, I open it up and take a deep breath.

I don't know if you'd call my workplace a creative environment, but it's a pretty small crew. I.e., we all respect each other's quirks.

The clear Flatwoods Monster is just great, love that toy.

Fess up, where did you get those cases?

Ok, ok. The cases came from a Japanese store in a local mall. They're actually made of of a stiff plastic, which is cool because the sides can fold into a single flat piece, leaving only the top and base- in other words, they essentially store flat. The biggest one ran me $35, and the mid-size pieces are about $20.

I'm not sure who the manufacturer is, or where they source the cases from. But I can definitely check the next time I'm in the area.

I LOVE Walder! Those shots made me drool all over my damn self. Such great colors. (Reminder to self: I need that damn Charactics set)

Is your SB suit on an Obitsu body? It sure looks like it. I didn't know they could go on those bodies. I've read that they can't but I haven't tried for myself.

Yup, actually it's the obitsu body from one of the DSH beetles. Fits perfectly, but the helmet is just resting on the shoulders (inner head was left off).
