On my second foray of shopping on YJA, I purchased these two wondeful figures of Osamu Tezuka characters, Hyakkimaru and Dororo. They were made in Japan by a company called Denboku who from my understanding, their licensing contract only allows them to sell some of their figures like these at shows or festivals. Other character figures can be purchased from their site. Figures are a good likeness of the original characters. The vinyl is of a high quality, pretty stiff and not recycled. Paint is well executed too. The Hyakkimaru figure/character who is born without forty-eight body parts in the story, has a great feature, his arm comes off and reveals a small blade. More on him at these links: http://tezukainenglish.com/?q=node/24 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dororo Other than the Dororo figure needing tightie whities or paint applied I really like these. It was really nice to find some of the more obscure tezuka characters as vinyls.
I dug up these little flocked gems out of one of my storage bins and my son flipped so I gave them to him. Not sure when they were released but the quality is really nice. Most are around 3.5 inches tall. The Gamera is probably my flocking favorite!

best keep those buddies under glass. I've seen too many flocked toys turn real dirty. And there's no way to clean them. Bummer. |

Blood Will Tell, the game based one the Dororo story, is awesome. It's cool because after beating the monster boss from each stage you gain a missing body part, and usually they give you new abilities (though not all the time). Those toys are really cool. |
