Post subject:  My small but growing collection...
I guess I can't put it off any longer... gotta post a pic or three of my collection. I've been collecting old japanese tin robots for a long time, but I'm still new to vinyl. I'm definitely hooked, though (for better or worse), so while my collection's nothing compared to most people's on the board, I'm pretty sure it'll keep growing (much to my wallet's dismay).

(Didn't seem like the place to post pics of my tin toys, but if anyone's interested, I'll post a couple.)

Oh, thanks to a bunch of board members who've sold me a good chunk of the SB stuff.

Here are some pictures of my vintage toys. The photos SUCK. I've got better, individual shots of almost every toy on my web site: http://www.atomicbox.net/dratomic. (Still under renovation, but the toys are all in place...)

The robots are all from between 1949 and the mid 1960s. Most are tin, most are from Japan -- obvious exceptions would include the Daleks. The ray guns date from the early 1930s up through the late 1950s, and are either pressed steel or plastic. They're pretty much all from the U.S., and I just included them to show the depths of my madness. :twisted: If anyone has any questions about this stuff, feel free to ask.

I get more questions about that brick...

The brick is from the remains of the Daisy manufacturing plant. A friend snuck into the construction site as they were taking down the building and snagged it for me. Daisy made the first toy ray gun ever -- the Buck Rogers XZ-31 Rocket Pistol -- in the Thirties. So my friend thought it'd be appropriate for me to have the brick as a souvenir. :)
