The pink came from a friend and the blue came from our own 3x3is9 (Chris).

Wow, that Gargantua looks great. I see it says "Skynet," but is it what Aoshima was showing off at Wonderfest last year?

Yes. The outer shipping box said Aoshima on it. Not sure what the Skynet is about. It also says No.1, which gives me hope that a Sanda might be in the works. It's a very nice piece, huge and the legs are weighted so it's really heavy. I'd bet dollars to doughnuts it was produced by X-Plus.

Here's some pics of the box:

That Baragon is from Bear Model. Its red vinyl with black and gold spray. It's an awesome sculpt, only 2 pieces. Definately my favorite Baragon ever.

EDIT: I meant that is made from just 2 pieces, a top and bottom.

Man you have the yellow painted matango! How rare is this guy? I've only seen it once on YJA and it's currently listed at 250,000 yen for a signed one. Which I think is ludicrous. It's not THAT rare is it? Nice shrooms BTW!

Hey Chris, yeah, the yellow painted is pretty rare. Definately not 250,000Y rare, but rare none the less. That seller is nuts. I picked up the whole Lucky Bag for a tiny fraction of that.

I'm really not sure how many of them there are, but my Lucky Bag was #35 of 100. Now, most of those bags were un-painted. So, I don't know if there were 100 total bags and a percentage of those were painted or if there were 100 painted bags available. I tend to think there were 100 total bags, because the painted figures show up so rarely and fetch big bucks when they do, particularly the Matango and the Jet Jaguar. The painted sets were only available from Mandrake.

Thanks for the nice words about my Matangos. They're my favorite part of my collection. Here's some of the rest.

Well your Matango collection is the best I've seen and something to aspire to. Now I know what I'm up against finding the Painted Yellow. That one and the Secret Green (the other green that doesn't come with the mini gid mushroom) seem to be the hardest to track down.

Great pieces TG! That lucky bag is a great snag.
You'll need the Maser Cannon to go with the Gaira!

Jersey represent!

I love BabyCakes, but I hate nasal whiskers!

Thanks man! Even with my crappy flash picture and Jersey basement wood paneling?

I'm going to take some good shots of this thing over the weekend, maybe battling my giant Bandai Gamera.

TG? I think you have me confused with Pete(Turtlegod). I'm a turtle of a different tooth.

Thanks, I've been after that Lucky Bag for years.

I want one of those Masers, but they're pretty pricey. I keep trying to talk myself out of getting one.

I've been on the fence about the Masers too, I knew if I bought that it would snowball into buying the Gargantuas. The Gaira is spectacular though...so tempting!

No worries, happens all the time.

I really hope they do a Sanda! They would look great together, and the Maser would really complete the package. Guess I should start saving now.

My only gripe about the Gaira, besides the crazy shipping cost (it's big and also very heavy) is that it was really tough to put together. It required a hairdryer, lots of sweat, cursing and a badly busted knuckle.

I have no idea who makes the little super deformed Zato and Lone Wolf. The box just says "enter the samurais" on it. They come with a key chain ring that can be screwed onto the head.

I have an extra Zatoichi. Hit me up if your interested.

The big box is for a 12" figure by a company called Alfrex. Very 'spensive.

This is him:

ooo...what other 12" figures are lurking back behind Zatoichi? I see Itto and Daigoro...not sure who that one in the tan kimono is. I was going to start a small collection of 12" figures years ago and started with Sonny Chiba as Jubei Yagyu (not sure who it's from). Totally awesome and a high price to go with it. My 12" collection just about ended there..hahaha.

Yes, that's my Alfrex shelf. There's Lone Wolf and Cub, Yojimbo (Mifune), a different Chiba Ninja (not the Yagyu version you mentioned), and the Akudaikan"evil Magistrate" figure.

The Yagyu figure you mentioned is also made by Alfrex. It's a real nice one.

I have a really big 12" figure collection, but it's mostly military stuff (Dragon, DID, BBI, Toy Soldier, ACE)

I think the Chiba Ninja figure you have might be the Hanzo one. I believe they came out at almost the same time. I spent about 10min in the store trying to decide which one to get. I ended up with Yagyu because at the time, I was reading the Lone Wolf series (never gets old). We're pretty lucky here in San Francisco to have a store that deals with 12" figures.
