nice start-up collection of the base. those pirates are amazing! i don't think i've seen either of them before. but, then again, i've never really spent much time for them. they are starting to grow on me. that giant bee is rad, how much did these sell for? |

Thank you silver, I love the captain and pirate in person. The Bee I purchased for a whopping 230.00 shipped, from the Japanese aftermarket. Darth Hank wrote: Welcome and that is a legit collection. toybot, I figured if in a bag dont remove them. Do all the collectors remove them from the bags? What do you do with the cards attached? Sorry for stupidity, I am totally new to this. |

if you're concerned w/ resale value... as long as they were well kept and not damaged, the toy being opened is not a deal breaker (in fact, i'm almost certain 95% don't care). if people actually still collect this stuff in 10 years... i dunno if they'd care oh yeah, and if you don't open your toys... don't let people on this board know |

No problem there. Wont be selling anything as I am a true collector of stuff and things. I still have original first print V. Body comics from the seventies (not selling so noone ask please) and tons of other goodies never to see day light again. rhinomilk wrote: if you're concerned w/ resale value... as long as they were well kept and not damaged, the toy being opened is not a deal breaker (in fact, i'm almost certain 95% don't care). if people actually still collect this stuff in 10 years... i dunno if they'd care oh yeah, and if you don't open your toys... don't let people on this board know |

oh and remember to get a sharp knife to bend the staples on the bag and then remove them so that the card doesn't rip. Then you can file your headers and baggies in a filefolder for future reference. I usualy don't remove my figures from the bags until i can put them in a case. I don't like dust collecting on them which happens fast in an apartment. |

sweet...a Secret Base collector!! I can't wait for my 12" Skullbee to arrive. As far as leaving stuff in bags, the general consensus here is to take the out...but people do what they want. Me, I take them out so I can feel them and smell them. |

I absolutely understand that. I think Im already close to 2k spent on what I have not including whats shipping to me from 3 different countries. I also just found out I will be having a rainy day in CA sumatra71 wrote: Your definitely off to great start there eLOCO...!!! Welcome to IFD "impending financial doom" Secret Base rules...!!! RxH means... really fucking horrible gatchabert, I hear you. When the deka bee came the smell from the bag its in and the figure itself was dreamy. I really like that fresh vinyl smell, god Im in trouble now. Thanks for the comment. lurker, I am a very passifistic person so I dont think people can get my goat to easily. I have read some of the wierd and angry messages left by members (no offense toward anyone intended) so I am fairly sure I can contain myself. My name, yes I have seen. My name actually comes from eCommerce, as in Im eCrazy or eLOCO. Thanks. |

Actually, I was always curious is to wether or not keeping them in the bags was actually bad for them. I mean, it's a different style of vinyl, but I know a lot of vintage record collectors won't buy old pieces that are still sealed because the lack of air and the plastic wrap themselves actually warp and cause harm to the record. does this same rule apply to vinyl toys? whatever the outcome is, I couldn't stand looking at my shelf of toys if they were all still in the bags.... |
