I got my first coin bank today...and my first kanegon. Sorry Mr. Humphreys, but I got to S7 before you did.
Deathra for size comparison :D (yes...that is the omake from SDCC08 inside the deathra)

Congratulations on a great pickup Gatchabert! :P That's a cute Kanegon coin bank there! There was one at Kimono My House today, that looked very similar. There also was another Kanegon bank--a tall Kanegon (more traditional looking), sitting on a pile of money and about 8-9 inches tall.

What I'd really like is one of those Kanegon banks where Kanegon is sitting on a cocoon and it's all one piece, but I think they are rare?

The tag says Tsuburaya and there's no year anywhere on the figure. On the bottom of the foot is says RUN'A®. I really no nothing of kaiju other than a few names so maybe one of the more knowledgeable guys will chime in. I love it...but I'm trying to figure out where to put it. As you can see, he takes up a lot of shelf space (probably 2nd to the first giant skullbee and about as much as a zugan). There haven't been too many toys that put a big smile on my face lately so I'm glad I got it.

I was actually just looking at those and wanting to order that, and the "counterstrike Garamon" counter-part just yesterday. The spiky face is pretty unique.

Bert's makes noises when you put coins in it, that one doesn't appear to do the same.

I believe they are just soft vinyl - the Banpresto banks & similar that I've handled seemed to be, and they produce characters with calendars/clocks in their torso that are a hard plastic.

A site I saw that said bank on did mention that it's made for Japanese coins, and doesn't/may not operate the sound effects when using U.S. Coins. I may be thinking of the wrong coinbank, but one of them I've come across tells you how much money you're depositing when dropping the coins in (like 10 cents, 25 cents, etc).
