SD Spectreman kicks ass!!! The big guys are incredible, but Mini-Spectreman is great...

I think that I am partial to the SD characters because my own noggin is XL...

I agree the mini is pretty sick.

Thanks !

The EX Spectreman was available thanks to the coupon in the Mitsukubi Ryu bag released in december.

This transformation version is indeed a really good idea. The botton is made of black vinyl and the upper part from transparent vinyl with black spray to make the transition.
The left arm is articulated, though it is not recommended to move it too much since the printed cardboard is inserted in it.

And the cardboard has small jewel inserted in it !!! One green on the forefront, one red on the left of the torso and two blue on the right. You can see them in the folliwing pics.

As for the SD version, I do not know if it is plated like the 1/6 version or just painted gold. It seems of a different treatment than the 1/6 but still not like gold spray.... I don't think this SD version was released in soft-vinyl form until this one. I knew of a resin version though.

The set in itself is pretty amazing.
Here is a pic of the full set :

1/6 = 12inch

Actually, Jôji Gamô seems to be a homage to a russian scientist, George Gamow, nothing else...
I guess Gamô uses his arm to receive the order to change into Spectreman from the Nebula 71 satellite.

About the SD type :
Someone asked me about a different set version according to the Spectreman+Dustman combo you bought.
Did anyone get a set too ? I got mine with a B-type. If someone got it with a C-type, it would be interesting to post some pics to compare the actual finished products.
The changes should come in the paint scheme, not in Spectreman's mask though.

I got a set with the C-type set and it looks exactly the same.

Great pics BTW - I'm liking the B type more and more over the C type.

i recently picked up a sd spectreman, thinking it came from this set:

but it turned out to be a keychain. anyone know if it's a bootleg or a different release altogether? also, what are my chances of finding a matching dr gori?

i noticed that the metallic paint covers the entire toy, and the matte brown paint is applied over the chroming. interesting.

I'm not really an SD guy, but that Dr. Gori is the kitty's teets! Good luck on the hunt.

If I remember correctly the SD Spectreman was a separate release by CCP. Dr. Gori and ape guy was from an earlier release. They were omakes that came with a giant Mitsuku-ryu.
