so, like a moron I dropped my camera and had to get a new one. I haven't gotten many good pics yet but I kind of like this one and will be adding to this thread if I get other good ones. For now I'm trying to get situated with the standard white background catalog type... Gargamel year of the rat

I just bought a new camera too, mine got swiped a couple weeks ago. Would love to have a Nikon D300 but it's a little out of my price range. Oh yeah, let's see more toys! |

ugh, my wife wants one of these. I just googled for some prices, ouch. I'm sure it's an incredible piece of equipment, but I think the new camera will have to wait till after SDCC. Like Xmas. |

Nice pic AND nice camera. I have to give the edge to Nikon over Cannon because of Nikon's lenses. But a Nikon or a Cannon or most any other camera should allow you to take great toy shots if you know how to use it. |

That cam is one of the new ones with the CMOS rather than CCD sensors, right? Want one, but will wait a bit. |

I have a lot of learning to do to make me feel less guilty about getting a camera way out of my league. I'm still having problems with White Balance consistency so I took it outside for a few shots.

Nice! I almost got the D5000 but opted for the D90 at the last minute. Just got it about a week ago. they have the same guts; the D5000 adds the swivel screen & drops a few other features and makes much more sense economically. I went with the D90 in the end mostly because of the kit lens. obviously you have some idea about how to use it, because you're getting much better pics than I am! |

thanks guys vog, I originally got the D60 but then found out it didn't have video or live view which I had been used to for years. I felt kind of naked without LV so I exchanged the camera which is why I ended up with the d5000. I really would have preferred to save the money on those extras but I had to have them. You will be happy with your d90, like you mentioned, they are very similar.
