You are one of the absolute best toy photographers on the board Zinc! Nice to see them all in one place.

Amazing work!!!

Great photos, the angles you pick for the figures show them of well and gives me a better understanding of the sculpts, not having seen most of them in hand. The Vampire Rose is a lit blank green, and not actual GID?

Awesome photography Zinc! I particularly love that Anraku shot--it seems to be sinking into black.

Thank you for complements everyone!

Image Wow! thanks man! I love our pics too!

Image Correct! The Rose Vampire is a blank green. I put a light under its feet and illuminated the body.

Image Nice! That's what I was trying to go for.

Image I had fun taking pictures of the Suck Fly. He's so small, you can do a lot with him.

Image & Image Yeah, just a hobby; I wish I could get paid from my pics.....more toys! The settings of the Mongolion was 6 sec. of exposure with an aperture of 5. I also had it set at an ISO of 100.

Image - Thanks! I will most likely just keep updating this thread.

Thanks for the info, Zinc.
Gonna give it a shot. Problem is gotta rely on auto focus, my eyesight is crap.

Actually, most of the GID shots are on auto focus. With the lights on, I hold the button down until it focuses, then flip the light switch and then take the pic. Good luck, curious to see some shots.

Great photos, man! Every photo shows a unique, thoughtful appreciation for each toy and, as usual, your GID shots rule. Nice stuff.

Again, thank you everyone for the compliments. You're encouraging me to take more and be more creative.

Image I always have fun with the Luchas. Glad you like them. I'm a fan of your pics too....especially the Anraku.

Image I hope to one day add a custom by you....and of course photograph the hell out of it!

Image I probably check your blog a few times a week to see what new stuff you've photographed. I was just reading the Kai & Shiva Motorcycle Set. Wild stuff!

Image Keep plugging away on them resins sculpts!

I posted this one a while back in another thread. Cross your eyes for to make one figure in the center and it should be in 3D.

Oodles of cool pics - much appreciation for the dedication!

Love the Pshop (or is it analog?) backdrop Lucha shot!

(BTW, that IP Clutter issue is coming along, but they're down to one staffer, so it's slooooow going.... )

1. Thank goodness - way too many people are often set at 400 ISO (or higher) which makes for evident noise, especially in GID or low-light shots. I hate cranking my ISO up, ever, and often delete the results afterward
2. Another way to do this is to autofocus with the lights on without actuating the shutter, then switching the lens to manual focus (tripod use being a given), so you can take a few of the same angle without going back & forth with the lights while making slight changes between shots.

Anyhow, great snaps - the two Gargamel Pocket series portraits are easily my top choices. You've really got me sobbing that we've got these drab skies going on for what feels like forever. Haven't been able to take pics in weeks

Post subject:  Re: Zinc's myriad of pics

Image Thanks Andy. The Lucha shot is analog. I don't have photoshop so all of these pics are pretty true to the original. The only thing I can do is sharpen, tint, contrast and brightness. Oh, and thanks for the update about Clutter. I was starting to wonder about that. Good to know that it's still coming.

Image - Thanks kist!

Image - I hate setting my ISO higher than 100 because of the noise. Sometimes I'll go up to 200, or maybe 400, but that's about it. And yes, that's another way that I take my glow shots - switching to manual focus after auto-focusing. Hopefully the weather will clear up so we can take some outside shots but rain is in the forecast the next few days. :(

Image - Thanks again Lee. I am already thinking of a new project for you. Will be in touch soon. :D

Image - Thank you. I have to thank the camera for producing such crisp photos.

I wish! A black bemon would be great. It's actually the LASH custom, just photographed in B&W.

I was just starting to think I had a better understanding of my camera but after seeing your pics Zinc I know I've still got a lot to learn. The clarity and color of some of those shots are fantastic.
