*Original Title, for those who care: "New to skullbrain, but I've definitely put in my time!"

++

So, as I mentioned over in the Just for Fun/ board reinto section, I'm new to skullbrain, but not new to this world.

Here are a few glimpses and highlights. If you want to see a larger set (although even blurrier photos), check here.

If you want to see close-ups of anything, let me know! Sorry about the quality, my house is old and dark, so shooting pictures inside here is always a pain.

ART, ETC.

Image
The two little pieces are Jeremy Fish paintings. The painting in the middle is by Don Pendleton, formerly of Alien Workshop, now with Element.

Image
Andy Howell, 30" x 30"

Image
Untitled #39 by Dave Kinsey, 24" x 48"

Image
It's a kinda rough pic, but two sets of originals by pro skateboarder Lance Mountain. Acrylic on ceramic tiles, they are supposed to represent the deep end and shallow end of a pool.

Image
A sweet little piece by Nate Van Dyke, BUILT TO BAIL from his show at 5024PDX last Fall.

Image
BALLS by Mike Giant, about 11" x 14"

Image
SNOOP-A-LOOP!, photo by my friend Joe Toreno

Cap'n Annie by Ryan Bubnis

TOYS

Image
That's a MODART bust from 2002 painted by Natas Kaupas and a Mark Gonzales ORANGE BOOK GUY statue in the back.

*Redacted pics per overwhelming request.

Most of the previous posts are from TAC or KR, but here are a few quickly snapped phone pics of more of my vinyl. My girlfriend recently moved in, so some things are a bit out of sorts as I'm moving everything around.

Image
My absolute favorite SB figure, the blue Usugrow Rebel Ink makes an appearance.

Image
A more recent photo of the shelf by my office desk. I've tracked down just about every FILTH production toy I could find. I have both Wagons, too, but they don't really fit anywhere yet.

Same goes for the Jeremy Fish toys, I've got all except the little teddy trooper that came out a bit ago. This completist streak in me will clearly be the financial death of me!

Image

Again, from a skateworld standpoint, the top shelf hold three gonz statues (with two shmoos on top flanking a Jordan Isip original for all you old hardcore heads out there.)

Image
My GID corner. Just with these few pieces, that corner glows brighter than any nightlight! it's been my latest addiction, no doubt about that.

Very glad to be here, and thanks for having me!

Added 6/14/10: I am aware I don't have a ton of strictly Japanese toys in my collection, but I figured I'd give a snapshot/glimpse of where I'm at now, where my interests lie and then show the progress as my collection moves in other directions.

And for those first reading this, I've tried to cut out a lot of the photos that really set people off. Ultimately, I just collect a LOT of different things, and was stoked to share after I had looked through other people's collection threads.

Do you understand what people collect here? Have you ever looked at this board before? I'm kind of curious.

I have a lot of western garbage lying around but this is not the place for it... we like them fugly munsters up in here

yeah man, the only thing people wanna see in those pix are your mummy boy & mummy gator and the rebel ink.. oh' yeah and the stage diving KvP's... everything else could pretty much burn in a fire and we would laugh heartily about it..

welcome aboard, we really appreciate the enthusiastic hello but prepare to initiate hazing phase stage one.. you will get abused

Haha, duly noted everyone.

Yeah, I've made some regrettable purchases in my day, as I learned what was available and learned about the ins and outs of this world. I'll go edit a few of those pics down for you folks. Scattered? Totally. I dig what I dig and simply add them as I do.

I AM aware of what this board is about, I HAVEN'T had time to go through every thread, but I wanted to start contributing to the discussion. A lot of the pics that are now cut date back to about 2005, but they were what I had to work with last night (almost all gone now, though.)

Honestly? My main focus in my collection is the "skateboard art" side of things, so that's what clutters my house most, but I do have a love/fondness/appreciation for all of it, be it western/japanese/etc.

@Chris Kohler - thanks, it looks even better in person! If that's the only piece of Nate's I ever own, I'm pretty happy.

@jebcrow - thanks for the tips, done and done.

@mecha - Thanks, I got the KxP with the suicide lean fixed. The board collection is about 80 deep now, but I'm guessing I'll have to send you a separate link some other time.

@The Moog - thanks for the links, I'll go and check them out before I post anything else up.

@sumatra71 - Thanks to you too for the tips!

I dig the Lance Mountain set. Any Neil Blender?

Sadly, no neil blender, although I DID once go to a BBQ at his brother's house in Alabama circa 1994 and got to see the masks that were in the living room when he, Lance, and O were skating through the house in the one Powell Vid (and that title totally escapes me!). Needless to say, I was pretty stoked.
