Well I don't know if there's much call for this type of thread or even if this is the right place for it, but I wanted to share.
About a month or so ago I invested in this Grody Shogun piece, it's one of my favorites:

I always wondered about the head though..I mean the whole piece is kind of mysterious (my crappy pic probably doesn't do it justice). Anyway, whilst poking around on the internet tonight, I found this post: http://lowbrownie.com/ultrus-bog-mixed- ... -festival/

Clearly the head was originally a torso! Mind=blown! Anyone else have experiences like this?

Grody shogun/Luke does a lot of toys with repurposed parts, including the cut flash

Dare I ask, what's the "cut flash"?

"flash" would be all the excess plastic that is normally cut away to make the pieces fit.

Ah, yeah, I've collided with a bit of that in my collecting so far. Thanks!

I appreciate the un-jaded enthusiasm in this thread.

I'm sure I'll be a surly jaded collector in no time.

Another instance of this piece being used: http://lowbrownie.com/new-ultrus-bog-by-skinner/

That bog is gorgeous. Totally not related to the discussion but must be said. I am such a sucker for orange and green colorways
