As I was preparing to take these guys outside, I stood them both on top of the running washing machine while I put my coat on. Just as I did, the spin cycle kicked in...you should've seen the rubber spines on these guys begin to vibrate furiously- they were shakin' all over, it was an amazing and hilarious sight...

KT had them for around $750 or so. Not too cheap.

Thanks, Sean!
I wanted to PM you, but I kinda spaced for a few days...glad to hear you're diggin' yours, too! I hear you- I think my wife (always amazingly tolerant of my toy preoccupations) is getting a little fed up with my constant gravitation towards the Detolf in the past few days...

To answer some of the questions on this piece and the green version in particular: these guys are twenty-two inches tall, and weigh about 18 lbs.

The eyes open and close, the mouth opens and closes (in a limited way- just a few centimeters difference, really- that's my one minor complaint, that you can't shut the mouth all the way and have it stay in place), and the arms rotate. They come with an alternate right arm (which you can see on the red in the pics above) and diecut vinyl symbols (on the show, the creatures had these symbols on their chests), which, as yet, I've chosen not to apply.

Mainly, they are hard vinyl, but the spines are hollow-molded in soft rubber and seamlessly adhered to the body (really an amazing feat of toy engineering overall, this piece).

The green version is a limited edition of 60, based on the original concept art by Tohl Narita...which, btw, I would love to see (I have the Kaiyodo Garamon model kit, with its great T. Narita box art)- if anyone reading this has a lead, please let me know!

I am truly delighted to have been able to score both of these; I tell ya, it wasn't easy to make the decision to go after the green (my wallet was still reeling from the red), but I'm so glad I did. I feel like my Gara collection has peaked- everything after this is just odds and ends, just gravy.

And for the love of god, Eye Scream better not make any more colorways!

Very stunning!!!

If I had both of those in my Detolf, I would always be afraid of the Seinfeld "Mr. Marbles" incident happening.......

Congrats on the score.

Great pics and some great toys. I want one but I don't know where the hell I would put it. I'd have a hard time deciding, the green looks good but the red is closer to the original and has some nice blue tint on the hands/feet...

Glad you got em and shared the pics

Now show us your collection!
