Did you do anything other than spraying a little green paint over the white paint areas? :?

yep - the whole thing was stripped to clear blue vinyl except the eyes - not that confidant in painting the eyes back in yet

from there I laid a base coat of white to all areas in order to give the overlay colors a boost in brightness

from there I added a silver fleck and 2 different tones of green

got any more hate?

Really? sure looks like you just sprayed a little green on top of the existing paint...

Here's an image of the original paint:

There's also some paint flaking on one of the ears... not sure if that was due to touching the paint too soon, or if it's just the wrong kind of paint being used.

i stripped it down with an idea in mind and the green initially didnt pop like I wanted so i stripped again and laid white under it and it helped with the true green color poppin out

im wondering, in your opinion, what I need to do to step it up - do I really need to fade 6 different colors into a toy to be considered "good"? cause to tell ya the truth - i dont like 6 colors all over - becomes too psychadelic

well. do you use a single or double action airbrush?... it looks like you use a single, and i think if you experiment with a double action you could greatly benefit since you think you do not have a steady hand.

well for a start the finished product should look better than the original. This for instance looks like a rejected color sample of the finished product. The orginal is more refined than the custom. I think it is supposed to work the other way round.

Caked on paint is also usually bad.

i do not see a caked on look - can ya point it out for me?

i think its more me than the equipment - im just wondering what it is that qualifies as a semi-decent paint job - i gotta get some VCOLOR thats for sure

i do enjoy spraying the clear toys more so than the solids - i like a little see thru action so im not wanting to cover an entire toy with paint - I like the direction my new skullbee is goin in - maybe i have touched upon somethin with that one - who knows

Ill keep settin em up and you guys keep knockin em down

(thanks to those PMn me with legit tips and tricks)
