Just noticed this Solid custom paint on YJA - a very different look! Sort of a modified 'rub,' it has a stained-glass look, with the heavy grey/black in the valleys.

Well...YOU'RE fugly, IMO!
I like how it's segmented. And I like the colors too. It reminds me of the three Sunguts painted Chaos that were contest prizes at some sort of "fest".

It's weird that you say that because when I first saw this custom this afternoon, I immediately thought of crayons.

Could be better, could be worse, I guess. The matte finish does nothing for me, however.

Interesting but not for me. It looks like someone actually painted it by hand, as with a brush and not the air kind.
Probably took a good while... I bet the seller builds/paints garage kits.

Some people make good work with a traditional brush. I know motorbot will still use one.

Well yeah, I do too, but on garage kits, not really on toys... Ill give the guy credit for that. Like I said, its just not for me.

Reminds me a lot of the Rinconada pottery animals that were popular in the 70's and 80's

I was wondering why this thing looked vaguely familiar, and that's it! A former gf's mother used to have a bunch of that pottery around. Even this Chaos has a kind of 70's look to it.

I can see why folks are reminded of the Sunguts Chaoe, but looking back at the Sunguts only emphasizes for me how deceptively difficult color selection can be - There are so many ways to get it wrong, and so few to get it right. This YJA one probably would have been more successful with better color choices, which reminds me how much the successful RxH customizers here rely on their skill with colors. The great ones (whether it's Picasso or Ray Charles, or a master stonemason or finish carpenter) always make it look so easy.
