I've got the customizing FEVER!

Couldn't wait to work on this Evil. Started last night. Finished him 2day, after hours of slaving over 3 steaming vats of dye.

I cannot stop staring at him...

Looks very cool and shiny. Personally I'd like to see just a bit more detail but other than that it's nice.

man...extra gloss! looks awesome.

LOL

He is pretty shiny. No gloss tho. I wonder if the shinyness is a side effect of the dye? I thought it was just the high quality Japanese vinyl. Gonna have to go home and compare him to my undyed Flesh Chaos from the same set and see if he's as shiny.

I love it! It's ice cold vampire evil! LOVE IT! I'd say if it needs anything else, it's some wicked colored eyes!

This is WAY shinier than anything I have ever seen. I can see the reflection of you taking the pic on the mutants chest. Cool figure though, some paint on top of the dye effect might be cool, and impossible to re-create ever again.

Question ?

I remember reading that rit dye will stain after awhile. is this true ??

Also can you spray V-color over dye, will the paint stick of rub off ?

How the hell do you use rit dye on these?

Some serious glass! Looks like you got about 8 coats of floor wax on em!

I too have heard that RIT can stain other figs, shelves etc that come into contact with a dyed fig. Don't know if that's true. Plan to monitor the 2 I dyed so far closely to see how they do.

And I plan to see if paint adheres well to the dyed vinyl. I don't think it should be a problem. Won't be able to test V Color, as I don't have access to any. But I will be testing some paint very soon. I'll post my findings.

So is there any coating on it? How did this get so shiny? Curious minds want to know

No coating. As stated earlier in the thread, it's just a Flesh Evil that was dyed. No gloss clearcoat, no vaseline :) , no tricks. I compared to the Flesh Chaos that was still undyed and it was very shiny as well. Especially outside in natural light.
