This used to be an unpainted M1Go Ragon, but then I decided to make it a little prettier. It's the first toy that I have actually ruined as a "project" and not just for practice, so please let me know what sucks so I can do better next time!

honestly, this is pretty ruined-free.

i would have gone without the black lines on the legs, but that is kinda nit-picky. aside from that, this thing turned out amazingly! specially for a first "ruin."

Pretty damn nice sprayin', Ricky!
Keep at it!

the work on the chest and belly look pretty good, and the paint itself looks nice and glossy like an m1go

but the spots, lines and other black areas look off...

to me, when i look at a paint job and i can immediately see the direction of the airbrush, the unintentional overspray, etc., it doesn't look as nice. these highlight areas feel a bit heavy handed.

Thanks for all the good feedback!

Good eye on the overspray sections... Part of that is because I'm not very skilled with an airbrush yet, part of it is because I actually like the oversprayed look. A lot of the "rougher" vintage kaiju and some of the new ones in the same vein use that, and I dig it. There are definitely a lot of areas on there that need to be cleaner, and I'm really not happy with my line work yet. But I also don't really like the obsessively masked look that a lot of figures have, either (I didn't mask anything on this one on purpose). Either way, its OK... more reason to go out and practice some more!

Hmm, I actually like the spots and lines. Makes me think of Scissors Jaguar from Kamen Rider, or maybe Tigris Seijin from Silver Kamen.

I like it and the black eyes. The V lightening bolt is kind of weird.

I really like the spots; the black lines on the limbs…I think they work okay on the arms, less so on the legs. I think most of the issue with them is that they are so heavy- a lighter application and a thinner line, and they might’ve come off better. As you say, tho, you’re still learning control of the brush, so the ability to apply effective-but-lighter apps is still developing. Still a very solid early try.

+1

I think the spots really make this paint job. I like em.
