Seems like cheating but the dye seriously make a great base coat, I like em.

Yeah, I think the dye allows me to get a little more out of a SOLID figure than using just paint. If I could get SOLIDS in any color I wanted, I'd do that. But I can't, so dyeing them seems to be the next best thing.

Here's kind of the "evolution" of this guy. Plain white, dyed, and painted.

RIT dye. It's really cheap, easy to find, and comes in a bunch of colors. More on the process later.
