Hello all. New to the board. I wanted to share some of the paintings I've been working on. They are done with acrylic on stretched black velvet fabric (it's not just for Elvis anymore). All are 14"x18". Hope you like them.

Very nice. I like the way you have handled the various emissions (beams, smoke, etc.)...

You could do Ultraman with an Elvis wig and outfit... :D

If you are ever in Portland, you have to check out the Black Velvet Painting Museum. Wild stuff. These would fit right in! I bet they look very sweet under a black-light.

Thanks for all of the feedback!

Er...well...they are all part of an ongoing gallery show. I didn't want to do any blatant "advertising" here (I'm really new, and wasn't sure if that would be appropriate), I just thought you guys would appreciate this kind of thing. If you are really interested PM me and I'll send you the gallery info.

I've done a lot more "non-Kaiju" black velvet sci-fi stuff like this:

Yoda

Classic Cylon

and some action figure paintings:

Kenner Luke Skywalker

Kenner Artoo-Detoo

Thanks for the positive comments!

After seeing these pieces, I am very curious to see what else is in the show...and hope that it makes it up to the Bay Area.
