Here's my first attempt at a Mutant Head. This one started out as an experiment on a SOLID figure and I just kinda ran with it. I went for an all-over water droplet effect with some trans aqua and black details. Thanks for looking. ![]() EDIT: Worked on the eyes a bit more. I think the whole figure comes together a bit better now. |

I like this! However, I think the black fill-ins would look better if replaced with either white or red. |

Awesome! I'm sitting here staring at the pics, and I have NO idea how you achieved that effect, but it looks great! I agree that the black bits do not mesh particularly well tho. They are too stark... I think white might be too sharp as well, but maybe a white with a touch of the same blue or the base blue way darkened down... or maybe the red for contrast? |

Thanks for the thoughtful comments, guys. Like I said, this guy started out as an experiment and I'm glad the water effect worked. I get what you're saying about the black being stark. Maybe I'll work it a bit more to tone it down. |

Soo... you're not going to tell us how you did it, are you? |

Prometheum5 wrote: Soo... you're not going to tell us how you did it, are you? You get the surface wet, spray it, and let it dry. The water acts as a mask, evaporates, and leaves the drops behind. It's nothing fancy and I certainly didn't invent the technique. I just wanted to try it out here. I'm already working on an Evil with the same effect in different colors. |

I've been dieing for someone to use the droplet trick Looks good, just think the black would look better white. Either way great job man. |

That looks great, man. I can't wait to see the upcoming Evil, as well as a couple more with the same applied technique. I don't paint, myself, but I'd love to see the classic rainbow technique on a clear blase, but using this water trick. |

Thanks, Crab Rangoon. I think the rainbow idea is a good one, might have to give it a whirl sometime in the future. Also, I went back and added an icy blue color to the eyes. I think it helped bring things together and tone down the blackness of the black parts. |
