I've been slackin on documenting my girlfriends efforts over the past couple months @_@ but October is gonna be jam-packed full of all sorts of horrific/terrific sweets coming out of our kitchen ^_^   ^ Kaiju cookies that were in progress til I got sick of the mess  ^

Those are great Crab Rangoon! Are you cutting the Hedorah and Booska shapes out by hand or are there actually cookie cutters for them? |

Booska was just a round cookie cutter, with small triangle ears, and probe/crown/horn added post-cut & Kanegon was an oval/ovule shaped cutter, I think, with the eyes added post-cut. Kaiju cookies rule...I might have to steal that idea with my kid. You guys from Austin...is Atomic City still around? Way back in the day my band played in Austin and we stayed with Tim Kerr. He had an awesome collection of Japanese toys. The one thing that stands out was a giant Space Cruiser Yamato inflatable kite. We tried to go to Atomic City but it was closed. |

Atomic City is still around, Prince still runs it, about 10 years ago he almost had to close due some medical issues but he seems fine although I have not been by in like over 2 years. In 2007 he graced the cover of the Austin Chronicle, a lo and behold with several GeGeGe no Kitaro kits and garage kits my brother built for him. And Randy, AKC sound about right... this week may not be a bad idea. |

Atomic City is like 2 blocks from my moms' shop, so about 13 years ago I'd wandered down there and basically drooled over all the anime, and Godzilla stuff. Holy shit, I haven't bumped this up with new Halloweeny treats yet?! Came home to these cookies, Friday, and they matched my newest Hedorah so well I couldn't help myself   they're sugar cookies with DIY candy witch-fingers & red gel icing She also bought a cake-pan earlier in the month to make skull shaped cakes/whatever, the first time she didn't like how the details of the skulls were protruding from the mold, so this batch she carved out all the protrusions  I think they came out much better this way, allowed the perfect detailing with the icing going over recessed spots I've got some other pics of some Halloween cookies she did that I need to dig up next |
