I FINALLY got to paint a RxH Adult sized figure - thanks to a trade! Anyway, this guy is one of the things I did for a little Halloween fun. A bundle of stenciling, sprays and gouache.

More views over on my Flickr, here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/27483582@N00/

And I'm painting lots of my own figure as well, but I won't double post here about them - instead, the thread is here: http://www.skullbrain.org/bb/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=39472

Really nice job on the jeans and I love the skull on the back. I think it looks badass except for the ghosts which are kind of "silly" looking to me and I don't feel like they fit in well with the rest of the paint

Yeah, I hear what you're saying about the ghosts, but that's basically my style (if you look at most things I paint - canvases, paper, toys), so it is really that exact mix of more detailed and 'realistic' effects and silly/funny additions that do it for me. I can understand that this doesn't appeal to everyone though, and I appreciate the feedback.

I agree the jeans and hair look rad, the ghost's aren't my thing, but they have to be somebodies, the only thing you should be careful about is overspray (right by his mohawk?). I really like that mohawk on his back, it's really clean, so I assume your using a stencil, is it pre-cut, or did you cut it yourself?

Thanks man. Yeah the bit of overspray on the back of his head didn't bother me at the time ( generally I like overspray - which you see on a lot of my Ugly Unicorns), but since all in all I tried for a clean finish on this guy, in retrospect the overspray isn't fitting...

The stencils are all drawn on and handcut from masking tape. I put strips of it on parchment paper, then cut it. it peels off like a sticker.

Finally getting pictures of this little guy up. GargamelxBwana mini sleeping killer (over clear with fine silver sparkles). I filled this guy with some pearlescent confetti as well, which I couldn't get to show well in the pics.

Agreed, the Woo is a thing of beauty. Also thought using the mouth on the Bump for an eye was clever. Nice stuff.

Thanks Mike and Lee! Admittedly, the Wu is my favorite as well. What an awesome piece of vinyl! It was hard to decide how to paint it though.

Post subject:  Re: RAMPAGE TOYS - Sufesu 58 Collaborations

For Superfestival 58, I am excited to be working on a pile of collaborative projects with folks like Velocitron, Ilanena, Chima Group and Kikkake! I've already got a thread in "Japan Toys" for the ongoing Kikakke project, but I'll put the rest of the stuff (small runs basically) here in this thread. :D

Ill start with the Chima Group collab - Bolo - run of 3 on pink/opeach vinyl:

x Velocitron - run of 5 ghouls - black vinyl

x Chima Group - run of 3 - peach vinyl. A CRAPLOAD of work on these little 3 inchers! LOVE this toy!

by the way, if anyone is interested in grabbing any of this SUFESU stuff (and you can't make to tokyo on the 9th) - leftovers will be available to my mailing list first and then the rest goes in the shop. Shoot and e-mail if you'd like to be on that mailer  rampage.toys@yahoo.com
