In case people don't remember what the original Jumbo looks like... ![]() ![]() Kirkland claims it to be really sloppy but it looks pretty good...in the pic. He was too ashamed to bring it to TradeFest ![]() |

If you brought it to TradeFest, you could have gotten lots of tips from people that were there. Sloppy could be anything...uneven paint, rough masking, anything. After looking more at the pic, I can only pick up some unevenness in the blue area of the chest and maybe the mouth...which might be lighting. What did you use to make the chrome on the arms and legs? |

yeah... well... that's probably why I didn't bring it to Tradefest. I would be subject to heckling from guys like you. my mistakes on this were many: 1. experimenting on a fucked up Shogun. should have spent a bit more money and got one in better condition 2. I applied the stickers before the clear coat. they bubbled up during the clear coating which is why they are uneven. 3. need to turn down the volume on the clear coat to avoid the drips 4. the chrome is stickers sold on sheets off ebay. i'm doing a Gaiking next. should come out a bit cleaner this time around. Looking for a Grendizer if any of you can point me in the right direction. |

Hahaha...we would heckle you but we'd also give you good advice. Better that you experimented on a cheap Jumbo than a more expensive one...cause then you'd really be pissed. |

What about that water decal stuff you run through your printer? I can't do this clean stuff at all so I'm not fucking w/ u, just curious. |

Leecifer wrote: If you apply the stickers after the clear coat don't they look like they're floating? . hmmmm, didn't think of this.... i don't know. If I wasn't so lazy, I would mask everything off and paint the details. but painting on this kind of plastic, you have to be really careful not to strip the paint with the tape. maybe the floating stickers would look cool? |

Looks Rad! ![]() This Tamiya masking tape is low adhesive - might work better for masking on PET plastic. |

yeah I use Tamiya. great tape, but even so, i had to rub it on my sweatshirt to make it less sticky. |

If you do another one I'll take that one off you...I love Dragun and Smash Tokyo's new Japanese vinyl toy is an homage to him. |

Dude, it's the first one (and still looks pretty rad), next one will be awesome. The chrome bits look great and I think your stickers will look nice suspended in a clear coat. |

as far as the sticker go you can always look into tinners tape at home depot, it's like a super sticky, super strong roll of super shiny alluminum foil, it's durable and easy to cut into shapes, a little pricy but a good thing to have around the home |
