hey hey brainers... long time, no post. fell out of the scene for a bit, because most of you were just too damn bitchy. =p still painting, just not as much. i got a nice little box in the mail from blurble a little after sdcc, and i'm just now finished with these guys. talk about putting the "pro" in "procrastination... anyway, here's a couple shots of the micro run i painted for blurble's "sparrow" resin figure. i call him "skateburn sparrow":   cheers gang... it's nice to be back.

Chris did an amazing job on these! Its an honor know the dude and be able to work with him again on another colab. Plan on more colabs again in the future. |

Nice soft painting, it feels like a watercolor sketch. Like the figure itself a lot too. |

hmm... that's the second time someone has mentioned amanda in reference to this guy... for the record, it's mainly dry-brushing all done in acrylic with a matte topcoat. |

I think it's really just the dry brush technique. I looked her up and I guess it is similar but simply because of that. It reminds me of maybe Thomas Campbell too, but for the same reason. And he doesn't do toys afaik. Maybe she's just one of the few people using that technique to paint anything, or anything memorable? I love and generally go for a matte look with most of my stuff and I think this is really well done. Makes him actually look like he skates and doesn't just mall grab and stand around all day, haha. |
