Hey Muton and other LA inhabitants!

I am visiting at the beginning of October and I just wanted to get some tips on places to visit, eat, sights to see. I know the Murakami exhibition is happening at the end of October, but I won't be around for that!!! :-(

Is there a bus route to San Francisco?

It's gonna be awesome, I need to get away from here! Plus, it's sort of a preview before I move there permanently at the end of December.

Thanks for the help!

Greyhound runs several buses LA > SF a day, although depending upon the departure time, the ride will take anywhere from 8 to 12 hours, much longer than driving. Fare looks to be around $50, probably cheaper than driving.

Check out the barry mcgee install at REDCAT (inside Disney Conert Hall). Cool stuff. And free. The building itself is cool too.

You might also get a chance to buy LASK breakfast, lunch and/or dinner at one of LASK's preferred dining establishments. Highly recommended. Not to be missed.

And some other oldies, but goodies:

This is definitely my top LA pick.

Hey, don't be afraid to hang with LASK - we are all nice guys and promise to show you cool spots AND not take your toys.

Very dense thread there, definitely more stuff to do than the time I have. So awesome, very excited! Sounds like the nightlife of LA is entirely realized. Pretty much everything around here shuts down by 5 PM.

I hope we can work out a trip to San Francisco, the bus ride is fair in terms of cost, just don't know if we have the time. I really, really want to see SF and S7 of course!

don't waste your time trying to get to SF. you'll have plenty of time once you are here.

and yes, sunday mornings are perfect for a nice LASKfest. honorary LASKers that have been seen dining with us include Marcus Allen & Reggie Bush. but, Reggie had so much bling on we asked him to dine outside.

my favorite thing in LA was Soap Plant/Wacko.

Yup, Wacko (and internal gallery La Luz de Jesus) is pretty rockin' - they have a ton of cool stuff.

Take a trip down Beechwood to the very end, park at the bottom and walk up to get a close up of the Hollywood sign and some great views.

So I am here. It's very sunny.

I guess we are going to the Getty Museum today, but I am psyched to check out other stuff this weekend. I actually arrived on Wednesday night, and Thursday was uneventful, we just went grocery shopping in Glendale. I can't believe how cheap food is here. While she was at school I explored the area a little, very sunny, lot of traffic.

Hopefully I will meet up with some skullbrainers while I am here!

Be sure to get an authentic Tommy Burger... Double chili-cheese and a tamale should do the trick.

OOh! If you're staying in the Glendale area you should check out Porto's Bakery and get the Tres Leches cake.

The Brewery Artwalk is also this weekend.

Hey, glad to be here!

I leave next Wednesday, short visit, but I only have so many days off.

Today we are going to check out Griffith Park for sure, and maybe visit some stores on Melrose, or, option 2, go to Little Tokyo, and check out shops there. Shops!

I definitely want to see the tar pits. So little time! astro burger sounds like few vegetarian options?
