Post subject:  Back From Taiwan

I wasn't sure where else to post this on here but if it's not in an acceptable place by all means feel free to move it. I posted this on VI as well for friends over there:

Hey All,

This is the first chance I've had to check in since returning from Taiwan. Just thought I'd share a few things I picked up and a few trip highlights. First up the toys:

These mostly are not actually from Taiwan, but I thought I'd throw them up anyway while I'm at it. Battle Buffalo and his KO versions (KO's from Argentina, although if anyone sees the neon TW version let me know!)

Great little bandai egg dinos free gift from a toy shop:

Godaikin Gaurdian KO, really nicely done:

In a night market I finally finished up a long search when I spotted this:

What's in the extra two boxes??

MASK never looked so good. MESK Bootleg Set (roughly 3 3/4"):

Snagged a MagicQ body finally:

Amazingly I have a weirdo Mazinga boot that matches this guy:

Real Deal Twin Combat, this robot is crazy it makes a red and a blue robot by flipping the parts around and it's got a pilot, sweet!:

Amazing Magnemo Bootleg Geag:

My wife pulls out another amazing find online, what's inside these capsules?:

Mini Blockman Boot and Armor:

Now onto some sights:

Toy Shop Sample (there were a lot of strange little toy shops around:

Yes that is a Robotman Gakeen ($1000 USD :( the Gakeen below that one was selling for $8000 USD!!)

A window display from The Robot Cafe:

High powered cow:

Modern Toilet restaurant:

My wife blasts off in an Ultraman vehicle:

I don't really get this one, but it's plush bread in a claw machine:

Wanli Future Homes (that are now abandoned) are amazing, it feels like planet of the apes around there:
Image

My wife likes the Hello Kitty Sweets restaurant:

And so do I:
Image

Betel Nut sales, what trucker can resist a half dressed girl in a glass box?:

DS the medical theme restaurant was fantastic:

Jofen ghost museum another amazing spot:

Yes that's me making a fool of myself...

I have thousands of pics from the trip, but there is a little sample. Enjoy! I highly recommend Taiwan for any tourist or toy hunter. If I had thousands and thousands of extra dollars I could have gone nuts haha.

I've been looking for those bastards since they got released. I opened maybe 10 or more display boxes and tons of individuals. I almost shit myself when I saw them there haha. I've been getting a few requests for them, these were only available with the set sadly. Now I just need all of the rest of them :( Like regular jaguar and the other condors.

I don't collect MASK but I couldn't resist the outstanding level of bootleg-ish-ness.

Everything in that place was Hello Kitty. It was pretty insane. If you have any HK fans in your life, be sure to get them there some day. It was pink overload hahaha

Were you able to go into any of those Future Homes? I might have to google them to see what they were like. They're kinda cool in a Sea Lab 2020 way.

They're mostly locked and there are some caretakers poking around the grounds, but I was able to sneak into one:

If you're interested I have hundreds of photos of these. Shoot me a PM if you'd like a bunch after I get through editing.

Great pics. I love it when people find the different path of travel and adventure.

I wonder why the homes are abandoned. They look pretty cool. I'd live there.

I have no idea, it's totally beach front property. Really beautiful back set with amazing mountains. It's beside a hotel that while not abandoned might as well have been as there appeared to be nobody staying there. The stray dogs running around really added a great element as well.

Maybe storm damage that was beyond the value of repair?

It really just looks as if they were abandoned, many of them still had stuff inside as if there were people living there 20-30 years ago and then they suddenly vanished. Truly very weird.

Did they leave vintage toys behind?

We should do it in the next few weeks. I've been a bit crushed at work since I've been back but it should clear up in the next week or so haha. We could all hit Scoops for ice cream too or Pizza Paul for lunch or something.

Irineo turned me on to that place. Even though it's only about 3 blocks from my house I had never seen it haha. It is awesome though.
