In honor of the Super7 show at Thrashout, I'm going to be setting the featured items on the front page of the Super7 website to Gargamel releases. I'll be changing these items throughout the weekend!

Keep your eyes peeled, you might miss something you've been looking for!

Wait, you're putting new stuff up? Or the "featured items" are just going to be a rotation of Gargamel stuff that's currently on-line? It sounds like the latter to me, so I think uberboy can go outside and play, right?

yeah most of it is stuff that is already in the system will just be rotated on the front page of the website.....

with the exception of a few things haven't been online. No new releases though, everything that goes up online has already been previously released.

I thought that one was technically "Tokyo" version?

techinally its the hedorah colorway. But thanks to skullbrain we now call it "tokyo". But Im guilty of that too. Glenn yelled at me about it the other day. It's easier to call it tokyo.

If we had a hawaii hedoran it wouldn't have made it out of the store alive.

I think this is Standard Bullmark Hedorah color scheme (based on the original Hedorah figure released in the early 70's).

For some reason people have started calling this color version the "Tokyo" colorway. Neither the Super7 Mook (or the original Super7 magazine article) or the recent Beautiful Book of Monsters refers to the Original Bullmark Yellow Hedorah as the Tokyo version.

The pink version of the Bullmark Hedorah is called the Hawaii version because it was made to be exported to the Hawaii market.

I wondered about this. Where did this "Tokyo colorway" thing come from?

I think we have Blobpus to blame for the Tokyo tag. They released a hawaii and tokyo version of the Blopbus sculpt at the same time. I don't think it goes back further than that.

I could be wrong but I think it goes back further than the blop. A few years back when I was starting to buy Hedorans, I bought the yellow bullmark on ebay and it was labeled Hawaiian. When I referred to it that way, someone corrected me and said it was actually the Tokyo version of it, because the Hawaiian was the pink vinyl. My memory is totally hazy on who it was.

The logic was pink hedorahs were produced for Hawaii and so by some strange default, the yellows were for Tokyo.

Then those blops came out, they kind of confused me with the names and the different color schemes.

I imagine the yellow version was sold all over Japan though and not just in Tokyo. So it seems that Japan version would be a more accurate description than Tokyo version.

I'd like to see if someone could find a reference to the yellow hedorah as a Tokyo version in a Japanese collectors book.

yeah, I agree which is why I'm sure the term would have came from western collectors and wouldn't be found in a japanese book.

It's trivial anyways.
