There will be both Mummy Boy and Pocket Mummy Boy in a classic Unpainted Flesh vinyl. Keep some of the original vinyl showing, paint it all over, it doesn't matter to us so let your imagination run wild! One winner for each will be chosen by us for a future production release during our 11th Anniversary month long celebration in May 2012.

Updated: All entries submitted will be exhibited and for sale at our Mummy Boy Custom Paint Contest Show on Monday, January 23rd, 2012, at the Super7 Store (1427 Haight Street, San Francisco, CA 94117). Doors open at 6PM Pacific.

You can always paint over the whole toy. I think the thing is, you don't want to use a base colored vinyl that was already used since the winner goes into production, but that doesn't mean the production MB has to be flesh either. There's lots of colors that have not been used as a base. That's just what I think, so S7 might say it's ok or they might agree with what I just said.
But let's say you want to use a bright green/lime green base. It would be easy to do if you start with a yellow base (stripped Tokyo MB) and apply layers of green till you get the lime green you want, rather than mixing paint and test shooting it. Again, just my thoughts.

Flesh MB is really nice in person!! I might have to get another to keep it blank.
I stopped by the store and talked to Luke and Aaron. It would be a big help to the S7 staff if all entries could be in a week before the due date so they can tag everything as they come in rather than the day before the show.

So there were no more details included in my order. Are there rules besides paint it up and send it?

Also, alot of customs don't use "normal" spray patterns or things that can be easily replicated. Would the production version of the winning toy just be super7's rendition of the colorway they used?

Official rules will be posted up today.
As for your other question, Super7 would try their best to match the original on the winners.

So any Sb'ers entering the contest? I've got mine almost done.

Thanks super7 for putting it on. I don't think I would've ever painted a mummyboy if it werent for this and theyre very fun to paint.

Is it because you have a Garfield fetish? Did you make her lay around and eat lasagna all the time?

I'm gonna try to enter. Just bought an airbrush last week, so still trying to practice with it. This would be my first custom, err legit custom. I made a Hooded Zombie custom before which doesn't count  . Mummy Boy does seem fun to paint, big open areas and not much detail, so it's like a big canvas for loose sprays.
