@plasticXO : so the photos is by CCP 2 years ago?
about the batteries is it hard to replace? I have a CCP hedo and the batteries still work fine at the moment

You can find on CCP blog the prototype photos from 2 years ago.
I guess the batteries can be easily changed with a hair dryer.

For the Bakura lovers, there's also a giant sized Marmit version with a realistic sculpt too :

^ that is a great shot!

we should have a contest to see who can best recreate their favorite spectreman scene with side-by-side photos for comparisons.

@ Mr.Humphreys This is why I love Spectreman, it seems that even though they have some really fantastical creatures in the show, it's still based in reality (?) They didn't take the easy way out when creating their villains, they made sure it would all make sense scientifically. I've noticed quite a few episodes where truth in science wins out over fantasy.

Quote:
Bonemask, to answer your question about the "parasite", it lives in the Queen's tummy, and helps her to digest her food. So when Spectreman yanks it out of her, she dies, because she no longer can derive energy from food, which must be processed by the "parasite".

In real life, most termites can't digest the cellulose fiber of the wood they eat. They have organisms living in their guts (they don't have true intestines) which produce enzymes in the termite's guts, which in turn breaks down the cellulose cells so that the termite can absorb and "digest" the wood they eat. These microbes that live in the termite's guts aren't considered parasites (parasites enter the body of a host and live off of the host tissue, thereby harming the host and in some cases can cause death), but rather, they are symbiotic organisms (which means both the host and the occupying organism lives in harmony with the mutual benefit of both involved--termite can absorb digestible food after it's broken down by the enzymes produced by the organisms, and the organisms can live inside the termite... i.e. home). This relationship is mutualism, not parasitic.

Dustman was pretty much the inspiration for Boryoku Genjin.
I guess people have probably realized this?
Whatever, if anyone wanted to sue Shigeru it should probably be whoever owns the Spectreman license.
Just sayin'.

That was my personal thinking too. That is surely why I love the NNN that much too. I'll mail p-pro right away
I think there's a metallic dark blue Nag out there, might that be a Dustman tribute ?

These toys are both pretty cool, I personally like the one on the right alot better. He kinda looks like a 3 eyed mutated ape/fish, to me anyway. Id really like to see the back of the lobster looking guy, looks like he has a big green stubby tail back there.

So much character in this sculpt- from the crab claws to that big ol' toothy beak.

The one on the right is called "Silver Robot". A little bit disappointed by this new paint job. But it is more like the "real" robot in the series.

Does anyone know how Medicom picks the toys they license, and if they get a full license or is it a one toy, one time thing... It seems like they could have chosen better Spectreman toys to reproduce, but then again maybe those villains meant something to the chooser personally.

This spectreman is not made by Medicom, they are made by bear model, Medicom just selling the new versions.
As i remember execept this 3 and spectreman himself has not been released by Medicom yet. I think there is pretty much everything.
the next wave will be sell after 2 months maybe.

Man, two days in a row now I have just missed out on some sweet Spectreman figs at [what are to me] bargain prices. Oh to be in Tokyo I guess... Seems like I am not destined to add any anytime soon :( As soon as someone wants to part with a Dustman, just let me know

Post subject:  Re: Spectreman

Nah, Mandarake (the Nakano store) seemed to have gotten a big load of toys in (as they always do). Not sure if they sold in-store or not, when they got posted, but despite checking regularly on the website, I didn't end up seeing the postings before they are sold out. Anyways, the store-front items are always hit-and-miss.

No, I know that they're made by Bearmodel, and not Medicom... My question was, Out of all the possible choices of Bearmodel Spectreman toys to repro, why choose those guys...?? That being said, is it cheaper to have them repro lesser known villians, instead of say Gogi himself...? I would have loved a Space Alliance Joji/Space Criminal Vampire Kyudora 2 pack, that would be my dream set.
