There's an Ultraseven episode where he gets crucified, too.

The Tsuburaya family is Catholic, so I wonder if these occasional references were intentional.

Yeah, I thought I remember an episode like that.

Funny they are Catholic, because the crucifying seems a little sacriligious.

Still a pretty powerful looking scene though.

It's like the Narnia of Kaiju, connecting religous morals and stories with fantasy. Except here Jesus turns 50 ft. tall to battle evil, the bible would have read way better that way!
