The two in front are Jyako and Gappo from the Akakage series. I need that Gappo!!! I just saw the mole go up for sale on YJA... can't recall the name or find the auction. |

Yowsa, I'm going to have to find that Gappo too. Very interesting how the colors are similar to the metallics on the much larger Dream Rocket version. I have the GID Marmit Parababy version thanks to a kind board member here. It's cool but that painted version is nicer. Great character but I wish I could learn more about its origin. I had originally assumed that it was another version of Gappa, the Triphibian Monster, but it's really not the same. Anyone know more? |

There was an old live-action series in Japan called Akakage. Sometimes it's referred to as Akakage: The Red Shadow, but I'm not sure if that's just the U.S. translation. From what I can gather, it's three ninjas who are fighting various large monsters. There was also an anime series at some point, and a more recent movie. Marmit produced the first toys from that series that I know of as Parababies, both unpainted GID and painted full color. Dream Rocket has more recently been releasing standard size toys in its Akakage Kaiju line. Quite honestly, that's all I know. If anyone else has more background on the series, I'd like to hear it. Youtube has some intriguing video clips of the opening clips from the live-action show and anime series. |

Thank you akum6n, you've given me a homework assignment. Your response actually answers more questions than just the one I asked. Thanks again. |

Damn...the name escapes me, but he's from "Captain Ultra". I'll check a header card when I get home tonight. |

The name of the Green guy in the center of the back row with the pink lips is "Guesra" * spelling could be wrong. |
