| Post subject: | Questions about SB Filling |
Hi all, I'm just getting into SB, I ordered my first piece from s7 last night and I have a question. Some of the SB figures have plush stuffing in them. I've seen photos of heads removed with the plush sticking out, and I believe I've seen photos of the entire plush filling being removed too. It seems like it would be difficult to replace the plush correctly though, is that a fair assumption? The piece I got doesn't have a plush filling and if it did I wouldn't be pulling it out, but I was just wondering. Thanks, Phil |

the masked ranger series were the first secret base pieces to do the plush inside thing. there were a couple limited bagmen and a bee that followed as well. a hairdryer can be used to heat up jp vinyl and turn it into super soft mush. you can then disassemble pieces to swap stuff out, make new mash ups...whatever you want. edit: oh yeah...your question...it isn't that hard to take these apart and reassemble if you make sure you use lots of heat and go slowly. nothing is guaranteed 100% though. i have had 1 casualty in all my adventures. a thin spot in a brain tore on me once. |

Hardest thing i've ever done is replace a solid-colour obake sheet. Damn near impossible. |

How does the Sb Skull figue come apart? arms, head and body? Is there a break at the waist? I dunno if I'll be swapping the parts around, at least not yet. I'm not fond of the obake or the skull bee. Most of the others are sweet. I just need to hit the lottery or something. phil |

I have never taken a plush out of any of my rangers, I'm too afraid. And I haven't with the batman brain but that would bother me a little less (except iv heard horrors with the paint on this ones brain) I have no problem however swapping amoebas inside the skullmen, no heat even. I just pop the head off, pull em out by their heads, and then shove em in legs first through the neck, one shouler and slide that arm in the one arm, then mush the other one when its up to the shoulder. Iv done it multiple times w no problems, wiggle the arms for help. Never even pulled the arms off. Then pop the head back on! Its fun too ; ) |

The bagmen have removable bags, skulls, and arms. Brains/damage brains, bugheads, and arms are removable And other than that all the heads and arms, no break in the bodys. Unless I'm missing something (besides pirates who come apart in a lot of places) |

Thanks Silent Killer, I can't wait to get my first SB piece. With any luck it'll be here on Monday. I'm already thinking about the next one I want. Here's another question- I see that secret base allows orders worldwide- you just send them an email in english, but they don't have any sort of catalog that I can see. I imagine they sellout pretty fast, but I thought they would have a catalog... or am I missing somthing? Also, with new releases, is it more sensible to order straight from s-b, or just wait for a domestic (for me) shop to get it in? It looks like there is a lot of awesome pieces I'll never get, but I'll keep my eyes open on the new releases. thanks, Phil |

Nice I'll check it out. Do you carry much vinyl? I was just down there last Thursday at the new Brave New Worlds Comics at 2nd and Market. Between you, Jinxed and BNW Philadelphia has some places to get a toy fix for sure. Are there many local toy collectors/artists? I thought I was the only one. Phil |
