Post subject:  Soul of Chogokin Questions

I am not buying new toys ( :) ) but just received a couple really great die-cast figures from the Bandai Soul of Chogokin series - the Tetsujin 28 and Black Ox.

1. My first question involves the "accessories" included in the boxes. In both boxes, along with extra sets of hands, etc., there is a molded plastic piece that looks like little nubs. I can't tell what they are supposed to be used for, if they are supposed to be used for anything. It appears that you would twist these "nubs" off the plastic.

Does anyone know what I am talking about? Do you know what these are for? See pic below...

I am hoping someone can help me.

2. ALSO!!! Does anybody have the english translation for the instruction booklets that come with these guys? Or know where I can get it?

Thanks!!!!

The thingy I am talking about is at the top of the picture. You can see it referenced in the manual as item 11... I just can't read what it is called or what it is for.

i don't know anything about these particular chogokins, but maybe the nubs go in the joints so they are snug?

You could also try posting this at http://robotjapan.proboards12.com/ because they have a whole section dedicated to chogokins

When faced with similar situations... I find that just jamming things into each other until something clicks/pops/snaps is the best way to go.

I am creating an account over at Robot-Japan and will post the question over there in the SOL thread as soon as I get the administrative approval to post.

Would that be the Shit Out Of Luck thread?

I believe they are spacers used to shim up the joints as BA suggested.

I think I have the answer. I noticed a diagram on the instruction pamphlet showing holes on the back circled. Previously, I had just thought this showed where the screws were in case you wanted to take them out. But the number of circles corresponds to the "nibs". So is suspect that the "nibs" are in fact "plugs" to be inserted into the sunken screw holes. I am not sure that I will do this, because I think it looks just fine as it is. But I think that's the answer. What do you think?

Here's a pic with the jetpack removed showing the screw holes, followed by a pic of the manual and a mug shot.

Wow - that's a cool looking figure. Really like the colors.

How tall is it (approx)?

Gotta love a good robot.

These guys are about 8 inches tall. Just complete quality construction that you can PLAY with.

I only have two, the one shown here and the Black Ox, who is Iron Man's mortal enemy. I like the Black Ox the best because it is just so perfect... all black just about.

Black Ox, wasn't that the name of one of the gangs in "Volcano High"?
