Looks like bits of small diameter flourescent surgical tubing, like the kind used in the rc/hobby industry for fuel lines?

I thought that was straw cut into tiny pieces. I'm expecting this in RxH

they look like glow in the dark beads - you can buy them at hungates and hobby places like that.

they arent REALLY beads but appear to be just cut off segments from a long plastic tube

I coudln't find it in datadub's pachi kaiju flickr. Is that some sort of regular or lottery release ?

Yeah the "beads" are little plastic deals you put on a frame and run an iron over to fuse together. Then you can make coasters or whatever. My wife makes little butterfly cell-phone straps with them

Obviously not TOO expensive since they're both sold out.

What time does KT post new releases? I always seem to be looking a newly posted stuff that's sold out.

There were supposedly only two of each.

I heard an Ebay flipper had one of each so guess the other two went to KT.

so people at the show can't get one then ?

Well if there's two of each then with this release I guess Taro got one set (someone had to take the photos on flickr) and the other was bought by the Ebay guy.

Maybe there are more out there but it looks like I won't be finding these.

Not really sure just heard there were two of each. If auction_toy and KT got 1 each Im guessing there may be as many as like 4 of each. I know auction toy wanted 1000 for the set.

don't companies like Cronic realize who these guys are yet and see that they are flipping the stuff instantly? I mean once or twice here or there...but this happens EVERY release with stuff like Cronic...if there was only two of each, it's a real shame that there had to be a middleman to get any of them into an actualy Cronic collector's hands...

shitty. plain and simple.

this really sucks.

i know its a fruitless call, but if possible, folks, please don't buy at these prices for pieces that were freshly released.
this is a cash flow business, if they are stuck with these goods, you will have better shot at getting the next great release at a more sensible price.
over the mid-long run, it will help all of us if you are into collecting long term.

it sucks even more when u are present at the event and not being able to score any despite being one of the early ones at the table to see it going at such prices barely a week afterwards.

Post subject:

On the other hand, without dealers buying these pieces, there would be no way that they would make it overseas barring an entirely different method of distribution...

Good with the bad, but it does suck if you are at the event and are unable to buy these because of the dealers. At any rate, $300 is too much for a piece fresh off the show table.

Here's something even more fruitless (and guaranteed to garner multiple negative comments); namely, me calling out companies who release something in an edition of two (or four, or six) and call it a "commercial" release.

Bullshit.

I realize that these are hand-painted, crafted, blah, blah . . . but if you're going to only make a few, give them to your friends, colleagues, fans. You have to know that if some unscrupulous flipper-type (I'm looking at you, Auction-Toy) gets their hands on them they're going to get jacked beyond all human budgets. So, in my mind, that makes you, as the creator, complicit, in a way.

To keep this on the level, I would never pay more than $90 for one of these figs, but for the completists and true fans, I think this is fairly lame.
End rant/

oh man KJB you went on a ledge and hit the nail on the head.

but bro, theres a whole secret handshake business going on here. A_T has moved and will move these companies products because he is a businessman w/ a brick and mortar supplying the 'other half' toys to the people. Then look at KT, getting all these new releases, above retail. think why these shop owners get all the new releases. then think if these shops did not get funding and did not exist and there were no avenues for the creators to get the products to the people. these 2 groups need eachoter and help eachother. and so is the circle of life. man gotta get up pretty early to eat those cheerios.

I'm going to need to start quantifying the regularity of appearances of "S + not + V, but S + like (or equivalent)..." clauses in these Cronic threads....

andy...maybe we should start letting people know about the support group we've started for those of us who actually like Cronic...and we all have been helping one another cry it out every meeting, right?

we used to really hate the stuff...but somehow we just got sucked in...
