Post subject:  hunting toys on Hawaiian Islands

I am getting ready to go to Maui and the Big Island.

Now, I know there are Japanese toy stores on O'ahu (cause I've been to 'em) but are there any on Maui or the Big Island?

I'm looking for toy stores, flea markets, anywhere that might have vintage or new Japanese toys for sale...

Be sure to go to Ono's for lunch and then go across the street to Leonard's for some tasty malasadas...

I went to a few antique stores years ago on the big island that had some, but, they wanted $$$$$ so much more than they were worth - they thought everything was gold regardless of condition.

What are the Japanese toy stores on O'ahu?

I'll be there in May. Any suggestions on what stores to check out?

thanks!

i emailed chad on the outer island spots. Brian is right you have to check the antique shops and weekly/monthly flea markets to find the best stuff. i have found alot of the limited kaiju painted stuff made for hawaii at flea markets and peoples backyard sales for couch change though (kikaida talker, hawaii version $3.00! last week in perfect condition from aloha stadium flea market). Oahu has a bigger base of toy stores but nothing compares to the best u.s store super 7 here on the rock.
