every time i discover what I think is a new Target Earth sculpt, I find out its been sold out for over six months. I would like a faceless bull, but all the TE stuff seems hard to find.

My favorite toy of theirs is Grotesque Monster. I have two (one black, one blue) and would love to get the white one. I'm not sure how many of them there are overall.

Gaicyan and Gebora are my favorite sculpts! Grotesque has also an attraction.

The Geboras a few months ago kept on appearing in Taro---damn, missed the orange colorway.

How about the quality??

Gebora rules! The quality is amazing in terms of the vinyl being nice and thick and it has so much character. I like some of the other Target Earth figs as well but I'm not a huge fan of the grotesque monster myself. There used to be a bunch of them floating around on YJA for quite awhile. I'll have a look and if I come across any I'll let you know.

I like the little squid lookin' dude (gaicyan?) but they are nearly impossible to find. I'd love a clear one someday.

Their blog listed these series (badly translated):

1 "Showa monsters of the world" ( "Monster World" and "new world of monster" and others)
2 "○ ○ series character," (presented after the completion of the contract)
3 "revival plan complements Hall Series" (No. 2 SUMOGON, etc.)
4 "MAKANAI Series" (kindergarten-style clay work)
5 "SUTORENJIWARUDOSHIRIZU" (two-dimensional monster known group Blink)
6 "Risky KUTOURUSHIRIZU"
7 "UMA Series" (仮題)
8 "DEMONZUSHIRIZU" (仮題)

I'm most interested in #3, sounds like they're picking up where Hukkokudo left off. Hopefully they improve that Smogon2 sculpt (and I'm praying for the other IKB hedorahs.).

Interesting. When I did a translation of a previous blog entry, TE indicated plans to release a set of 12 kaiju from the "Showa Sekai no Kaiju" series (the first was Bagun 1-go).

I'll have to look at those other planned series.

Thanks! I'd really appreciate it.

I think it is one guy.. Marmit is the parent company. He seems to be working closely with the original illustrator of the zag etc...

I want that black skull bird thing so bad..

Some of the Target Earth stuff is pretty cool, but I really wish that Baby Zag had never seen the light of day. Unconscionable is right.

Aww, I like that little crack baby Zag. Don't hate on him just 'cause he has birth defects.

So Marmit has made the Hukkukudo reissue Zagoras, the Target Earth baby Zag, and their own versions? They sure are making the most out of that license. Do they own Shikaruna Koubo too?

Yeah, old thread. Didn't want to start a 2nd new TE thread just for this.

Image

This is really out of WTF field. TE already has the big retro-styled Bagun 1 that they made 2 years ago. This one is called the "Daikyo Type" Bagun 1, in reference to the Daikyo toy company that made the original Zagora and Mighty (i.e., the versions reproduced by Hukkokudo).

I guess it is the 'what if Daikyo made the Bagun' concept.... still kind of strange.

Coming out during the summer... blog also says they are working on a Daikyo-style Gidon.

Looks good.

The next page back on the blog has a pic of a Hedorah with a head sculpt that looks like a Zudon.

Edit...I wonder with the Gebora/maza if Target Earth and Zollmen are collobrating.

I think the Zudon head Hedorah was just for fun. The Hedorah he sculpted the head on isn't Target Earth (though there is likely a connection as he had a bunch of dead stock...), and the painted version is just the sculpting clay painted.
I think he references just playing around, but the translation isn't great.
I don't know though... I like the other new releases Bagon + new guy, so I'll be happy if he sticks with those.

Anyone else take a gander at the Target Earth site? Looks like Sato is working on three series of figures: Uma, Kutouru, and Demon. The translation mentions everything from Chupacabra, Lovecraft, to illustrations that look like the Jersey Devil. Some clay mold pics here:

Oh and there is a pic of a bigger TE Kusogon.....

Looks good. I remember liking some Lovecraft drawings he did a couple years back. I hope it works out.
