Are those standard size? I kinda like them because I am a sucker for nostalgia...and I am continuously amazed at the virtually limitless marketing possibilities for things KISS...still waiting for the Gene Simmons toilet paper though...lick it up, Gene! |

Damn, I was so hooked on collecting Kiss stuff as a teenager and this whole overwhelming wave of toy collecting reminds me of those days when me and my friends were saving every penny to buy stuff like the Destroyer album on red vinyl, which I still have in the old collection by the way... Kiss rules...!!! or least they did ten years ago when I was a fanatic... |

I gotta stick up for Kiss and say they actually did have some pretty cool songs, I agree not all them them were good but anything from the first three or four albums was pretty fucking good and very different for the time period. God of Thunder was definitely a favorite track back then and the Alive album is a fucking classic...!!! I used to sit in my bedroom and play Alive II over and over and over again like I was never gonna hear Shock Me ever again...!!! Peter Criss was a huuuge influence and is the main reason why I started playing drums and got so into making music... let's just say that I would never in a million years buy these Bricks but they had talent and knew how to market themselves better then just about anyone. Wish my talentless idea's brought in that kind of bank...!!! this image is just so iconic for me...!!! aaahh, the memories...

For me, living a fairly dreary existence in an imagination free zone in Northern England, these guys were a huge antidote - so much larger than life. Destroyer, Alive I, Dynasty (yes, u heard me), Unmasked, Rock n Roll Over, the first three albums and especially Alive II blew me away!!! Sure Gene IS an A-hole, but Paul is an awesome guy, and the live shows have always been some of my favorites of all time. Seriously, these guys, muton, cyborg and Marvel COmics made some of my teenage years a whole lot more bearable! PS. I even paid to see "Kiss meets teh Phantom of teh Park" thnaks to a theatrical release in Blighty - I sat thru the horrible "empire of teh Ants" with Joan COllins figthing off giant fake ant heads on sticks, so I could watch Kiss three times thru - them an d their hysterical other worldly Brooklyn Accents |

They're going to be 400%. Knowing KISS, er, Gene Simmons, I am sure there will be 100% sets (a'la Sex Pistols, Oasis, etc.) and probably a series of 1000% versions. Let's face it, this will prolly not be the only KISS Be@rbrick release we'll be seeing. A 1000% version should come with the KISS coffin. That would be a good marketing idea. I think High Snobriety has a posting on them with full body pix. No exact "era" costuming, but a general leather / stud clad design. If anything, early 72-73 KISS. The makeup designs on these aren't my first choice. They are using the KISS icon designs really and that's a bummer. The OG makeup designs would have been way cooler. To say KISS had no talent is ludicrous! Sure, they aren't the most talented of musicians, but they wrote some great rock songs. They, without a doubt created their own sound back in the day and what other band could formulate an entire career with most of their songs based around 12-bar blues progressions? If that isn't / wasn't talent, I don't know what is. How many bands did they influence in their career? Too many to count. I know that doesn't garner them talent in the traditional sense, but com'on. Strutter? Deuce? Parasite? 100,000 Years? Love Gun? My two-cents. For what it's worth ..................................................................................................(absolutely nothing) Gene would be proud knowing I made KISS bold everywhere. KISS Army for life \m/ \m/ blech |

I've always thought of KISS as great performers rather than great musicians, and I don't think there is any shame in that. As for selling the hell out of themselves as icons . . . Shephard Fairey has built a legion around it, and I've never seen him spit fire. |
