Whoa...when CKA said the new Bemon was going to be totally different from the pollution kaiju we all know and love I have to admit I was intrigued, but I definitely didn't see this coming: (sorry for the camera phone pics, my regular camera's batteries are dead) ![]() ![]() Very cool, very METAL...but I have to admit I'm not as in love with him as I am with the first Bemon. Fortunately, CKA said he'll continue making the new guys alongside the old ones. Nice! What do you guys think? I'm getting a bit of a Shikaruna meets the Inhumanoids (old 80's US cartoon) vibe, but in a good way... |

Joe wrote: Better than the new Bemon by Target Earth. Right on... I'm not a big fan of that one by any stretch of the imagination. I think this guy will definitely grow on me... Great texture on the sculpt and a really nice paint app (olive vinyl with dark brown mottling and I believe a very faint pearl coat that brings out the detail). The metal chain/morning star is really cool, too! |

Bemon is the name of a company (sort of), not the name of a figure. Just keep telling yourself that ... That things VERY cool ... I can imagine it attacking me in my sleep. Any chance of a close-up of it's eyes? (It DOES kind of remind me of that thing from that movie though. You know the one ... except it only had one head.) EDIT: And one eye as it turns out ... found it! : http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=a77pycC78Q0 Still freaking cool though! |

No relation. He is the cover art for Famous Monsters 1968 Yearbook. I have the issue packed away but I think it was a concept illustration for a horror flick. HA abe beat me to it! ( and we used the same FM cover database for ref)

The Cosmo Knight fella (don't recall his name, he's in the S7 Tokyo Underground book) I believe is the sole proprietor of the his shop and Bemon/Longneck line. Not sure if he sculpts or hands off designs to factory or not. Hopefully someone has more info... It does appear from his blog that he is also making t-shirts with this two headed badass. |

As far as I understand, the Longneck stuff is based on his own designs and the Bemon/SxVxHxC stuff are based off old illustrations. I don't know about sculpting, but I'm pretty sure he does the HP Bemons himself (basing this off him having bottles of V Color sitting around the shop). He's also got a pretty killer selection of old figures in his shop. It's the only place I've ever seen an original Frankenruge (still in package, even!). The new Bemon is SOLID vinyl, not like the Bauwers but not dissimilar to the Dempagons. Got my pre-order in for the King Joe and Panda versions of those, too... can't afford to pick them up on YAJ after the fact! I'll try and get new batteries tomorrow and take some pictures. Did anyone else on the boards get one of these? |
