This looks to be very cool! Can't wait to see what it can do? I have the 2000 MG Bandai version but this one smokes him out of the water. Sweet! http://www.scifijapan.com/articles/2008 ... illa-1974/ Anyone have any guess on the price? And look at the remote |

While that website has announced that this is a "Chogokin," there is nothing in the Japanese press reports that mentions it being part of that line -- nor is "Chogokin" invoked on the placard at the Tokyo Toy Show. You can read more about this toy on my blog site: THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND GODZILLA @ http://augustragone.blogspot.com! |

Thanks for the welcome and the compliments on my book! I'm still zonked from G-FEST in Chicago this past weekend... I heard about the new RC MG before I left town, but I couldn't get a story together on it until after I got back. (I still need to write up an after-report on the show, and get up a Happy Birthday to Eiji Tsuburaya as well!) |

LOL! Yeah, I didn't get approved for a long time, and had to go into Super 7 to browbeat them to do so. Then, I just got slammed with projects... two more DVD sets from BCI coming (FIGHT! DRAGON and SILVER MASK) and INAZUMAN coming from Generation Kikaida! (Not to mention my annual Classic Horror Film Festival, SHOCK IT TO ME! coming this October 17th at the Castro Theatre, and another Godzilla screening/book signing in the works). Whew! When it rains, it pours. By the by, I'll be at SDCC, signing copies of my book on Saturday and Sunday at the Chronicle Books booth, times TBA. (Thanks for bookmarking my blog, too!) How about that "Linda Blair" action on the upcoming RC Mechagodzilla? Tres cool, ne? |

Bandai rules. 500? Man, that's some intense cash, but this thing is massive. Hopefully I can get my hands on one of these. Shipping charges would be insane, thing probably weighs a ton! BCI has recently become a heavy selection in my dvd collection. with ultraman stuff and all the MOTU box sets......and Inazuman? That's sweet. Glad to hear you're working on getting all this great stuff on DVD. Any chance of a future release of Akumaizer or Barom-1? The Rainbow toyline has shown me some beyond crazy characters, so I'm guessing the show is equally bizarre. Haven't got the book yet, but it's been in my mind catalog of stuff to get. but, then again, back in the day, I remember having the Ninja Scroll DVD in my memory shopping list, and it took me nearly 5 years to actually get it. Not a trustworthy form of jotting things down.... |

Thanks for the info August! I missed G-Fest again this year due to always falling on my wife's birthday! Although it would have been nice to get a signed copy someday. Although I did get to see a UFO last weekend in Iowa Hopefully the MechaGodzilla will be a lot cheaper than the Black Ox... $7000.00? http://www.engadget.com/2008/07/09/vsto ... k-account/ |

"(FIGHT! DRAGON and SILVER MASK)" I knew about Silver Kamen, but Fight! Dragon? I thought myself a Toku aficionado, bu I've never even heard of it! What's the name in nihongo? Edit: I forgot to mention, I'm REALLY looking forward to Inazuman. I just picked up V3 but haven't had a chance to watch it. Also, let me add to the congrats on the superb Tsuburaya book! |

Just a quick note to guys planning on picking this up: Bandai RCs seem like they generally drop in value about 6 months or so after release. I know I saw some of those Gundam RC Doms hit about 50% off or so after a while. Might be worth holding off in the short run and checking YJA a few months after it drops... |

hillsy11 wrote: I knew about Silver Kamen, but Fight! Dragon? I thought myself a Toku aficionado, bu I've never even heard of it! What's the name in nihongo? TATAKAE! DORAGON 「戦え!ドラゴン」-- it's a tokusatsu-style martial arts series, shot on location in HK, Macau, Manilla and Tokyo, starring Yasuaki Kurata. The series features guest stars such as Bolo Yeung, Susumu Kurobe (Hayata in ULTRAMAN) and Shunsuke Ikeda (Ichiro in KIKAIDA 01) -- lots of tokusatsu guest stars. hillsy11 wrote: II forgot to mention, I'm REALLY looking forward to Inazuman. Thanks for the kind comments on the book -- wait until you see the special features on V3! I wrote everything for that box set, including both sets of English subs and the ad copy (I love V3). We really knocked ourselves out on that one! The Lost Kaiju wrote: Thanks for the info August! I missed G-Fest again this year due to always falling on my wife's birthday! Maybe you can hitch a ride on that UFO and come out to California? |

Very cool August! I'll bring my copy next July. I'll have to make plans now so I can celebrate birthdays in between... but no thanks to the UFO, I had some sleepless nights due to those strange lights. |

That's too bad. Definitely going to pass, no matter how much it hurts. These days I'd rather have an ache in my OCD than my wallet. |
