1. No, but it will be here in the next couple of days.

2. There is only one other 'colored' Agon (its name). I have one of the black versions. A little large, but it's very insectile and pleasing to hold in your hands (I guess those two qualities can go together...). It's great that he's rolling out more colorways of the Akakage kaiju. I was afraid Marnons were the future...

I haven't seen a preorder for Dream Rocket from S7 in a while. I guess each store obtains stock independently?

It is really nice. The purple vinyl is clear and it looks fantastic against the light.

I've heard that Dream Rocket will be releasing clear color vinyl versions of each of the other Akakage sculpts, too (so far it has been Doguma and Agon).

Just saw one down at Lulubell (yes, I am there like every freakin' day it seems! I travel in town for work:). It is a good size, and the colors are amazing, and the legs, neck & antennae are articulated too. I have never seen another one in person to compare it to, but it was the best figure I have seen from Dreamrocket yet. It's like Beetlar & Gamera had a love child!
check it: http://www.lulubelltoys.com/dreamrocket-agon-clear-purple-version-kaiju.html

I know Agon is from an old Japanese TV show...but I don't know much about Dreamrocket. Anyone?

Ichimiya-san of Sunguts Honpo with Yajima-san of Dream Rocket, from Kaiju-Taro's Flickr.

In brief, Dream Rocket are well-reputed for exceptional sculpts and paint jobs. Agon is actually one of their older Akage sculpts. It was great to see this wild colorway as sort of a revival of the sculpt, so perfect for a Japanese beetle. Several Dream Rocket monsters are entirely original. There are a few hardcore Dream Rocket collectors on this site, although pretty much everyone respects them for the quality of their releases.

Thanks for the summary, Dean. Dream Rocket's offerings consist of 3 lines, essentially:

1. Akakage Kaiju (based off of the 1960s live-action show Kamen Ninja Akakage)
2. Monster File (original characters by Yajima-san- Gumos, Gilmos, Gazura, Balbagon and Marnon)
3. Dream Rocket Kaiju Land (the Pegimons)

He's also done a number of collaborative projects with Nakayoshi, Kaijuuken, Sunguts and probably a few others that I am forgetting. Not to mention the U.S. store exclusives.

Just picked these off the web:

New Jijigora (on the DR blog):

Called the "Evil Wind" version, it is on GID base vinyl. Yes, calling Sanjeev, it is a glowie.

He also mentions a new Marnon, but I guess it isn't done yet.

Mark Nagata put up this teaser on his flickr as well:

"Battle Pack" Gumos... wonder what this could be?

All to be released at Wonderfestival next month.

The glow Jijigora is sweet. There wasn't a lot of buzz about the first release of this one-eyed monster. Possibly my favorite DR sculpt. Thanks for the heads up.

I think lulubell listed it as 7 but kt listed it as 8.4 inches..not sure which site is more acurate.

its 7 inches, and then 8.4 inches to the top of the antenna thing on his back. hope that clears it up

Ok. I measured the actual thing.

Length (rear of carapace to tip of front horn): 8.5"+
Height (foot to tip of back horn): 8.5"
Width (side to side): 5"

I was generous in my measurements, but I don't know how they got 7".

This is actually one of the smaller DR sculpts because it has no tail.

i think they did from head to foot to get 7 inches. still very big piece for a beetle.
