Sold at $510 just now on evilbay??

How much was this at retail?

Post subject:  Re: SDCC Boogie Woogi...

That was boneheaded beyond belief at that price.

Might shake a few more loose and its doubtful many more will pay that much.

The guy who bought it buys Huck Gee Dummies as well so there's probably some major brain damage there.

I really hope the girl who was offering us $300 for our tickets got that one. The funny part is we were all supportive of her finding it on eBay cheaper then the $300 she was offering us. $510 is fucking offensive. Even though it's the coolest Boogie released yet.

I just thought it was funny, sad too.

Think of some other stuff you could get for $500 compared to the SDCC Boogie and its rediculous. I've seen flippers selling older Man Machines for $300 and I'd rather have those.

Had really hoped to get one of these but I just don't see it being a $500 piece. I'd overpay but that was burning money imo.

I heard someone offered $700 for the one in the case.
But fuck, $500?

Post subject:  Re: SDCC Boogie Woogi...

really? 510?
seriously, i really cannot understand why would anyone pay so much for a boogie with relatively high run that has just been released? also, more will be released in japan eventually.
perhaps its just a pseudo bid to set a false impression about the price.
if its a real bid, whoever bought it at that price is not doing any favour for himself and other boogie collectors for future releases.

You realize if you have the older rarer Boogie Mans you're basically rich now, its like money in the bank practically.

fuckin' nuts! yeah...the hype will eventually die on this but i do think it will hold it's value at around $200+.

Post subject:  Re: SDCC Boogie Woogi...

This is pure idiocy.
$500+ for him? nah.
I have no doubt that he will hold around $200 and most would think that a fair, if high, price.
But never ever at $500.
And as someone said, there will probably be a flood of these guys now.

If I wasn't dirt broke I'd actually take it. I can't even blame SDCC. It's such a killer piece, I hated having to sell mine 6 months back.

Post subject:  Re: SDCC Boogie Woogi...

That's just fuckin' offensive. As others already mentioned above, i'd be willing to lay down a bit more cash than 'retail' for this piece but $500+ is plain demented. Pretty sure someone will try to unload another one of these soon.

Rediculous, $200 dollar figure at the most.

Geez! Not too get off topic (of the Boogie, b/c it is AWESOME looking!), but flippers can 'suck it'! For reals. I mean, SDCC 08 JUST ended, and the flippers had things up for sale by Monday--and NOT cheap.

Boo! Hiss. Boo, I say!

Standard hype after a release.
Another fool gets taken for an expensive ride.

He could have had some nice vintage at that price.

Post subject:  Re: SDCC Boogie Woogi...

There are always a few crazy flipper prices immediately after SDCC to take advantage of people with more money than patience...god I'd love to be a rich impatient asshole...but I'm not rich!

This sort of thing makes me wonder if SDCC sellers of limited items like this should number their toys (or headers at least) and keep track of who got what number...could be way too big of a logistic headache to keep track of, but it would be interesting to out the flippers.

Does this upset the toy producers as much as it does the collectors?
