Ok so this may not have as many posts as the SDCC thread but I have to show off these guys I picked up off YJA. These guys are called Odd Eggs and are made by lindentoy. They made that great grey retro robot in the flickr threads too but I couldnt justify both of these at the moment. They kinda remind me of weebles.

Is this a new company? I saw the robot up on KT the other morning. Their style is pretty unique, minimalistic. Are these vinyl? I'll post my, uh, single purchase here once it arrives... |

I believe the auction did indeed call these sofubi (which I know encompasses alot) These are the prototypes they had at the show and Im actually not sure if they were for sale to the general public. Google translation has a way of leaving you mystified. Looks like theres an official colorway on the robot now too. ![]() Their blog is http://lindentoy.exblog.jp/ |

After Celga fees they were around 65 bucks for the set of 3. I think I got Set B. I won them for 4500 yen which was only a couple dollars over the retail. |

I'm really liking all of this stuff. Great robot. He sort of has a Robo Force feel to him. Reminds me of Hun-Dred. |

So here's the story on the robot guy (Robita). He's from volume 2 of a 12-book manga series named "Phoenix," and created by none other than Osamu Tezuka (of Astro Boy fame). Interestingly, due to the progression of the stories, it is considered to be unfinished as of his death. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoenix_(manga) The manga sounds pretty fascinating, and I must admit feeling a bit dumb having known nothing about it before now. |

I just went back to the Linden blog and they've posted a reply to my questions about over seas orders. They're going to make them available to us Gaijin types! Quote: Dear abelincolnjr Thank you for your email and interest in our odd eggs. Currently, we are preparing to develop our product over sea customers. Please let us get back to you once they are ready. Regards from Tokyo, linden(リンデン) Whoo hoo! Any chance of S7 picking these guys up? |

Sweet little pickups. I'm guessing that you can mix and match the heads. Yes? |

I've had this guy for a while, but only recently have I started to really dig him. Right now, he's my favorite unpainted vinyl. ![]() He's from Tezuka's Phoenix manga. Heres some little plates I have with The Phoenix on them, these are kinda' strange and cool: ![]() ![]() Wouldn't mind a plate with Robita on it... |
