Cool manga take on Ultraman! Kinda Reminds of the animated style Kikaider.

These are cool, and the sculpts are awesome but they are made in China so the vinyl quality isn't so high. Some pretty nice paint applications, though...

This Baltan kicks total ass:

Question...maybe a dumb one: What is Baltan's relationship to Galtan? Is that just a play on words? Or does -altan mean 'He of the claw hands' or something?

Yeah no Japanese vinyl but the paint applications are amazing, especially when using metallics.

Baltan is a real character and Galtan is a rip-off character someone made to cash in on the kaiju boom many moons ago. And I think that the Galtan was only shown on menko cards, it wasnt until recently with the pachi craze now that someone made a toy, actually 2 companies have made toys now. Alot of the monsters made now are from menko cards or are monsters created for kids comics and kaiju books from the 60's and 70's.

Galtan fun fact: his component parts are Antlar's body, Baltan's arms and an unidentified skull (most likely swiped from a Toho movie still or poster). That's why he's got four arms and his head's so big! The name Galtan is an amalgamation of gaikotsu (skeleton) and Baltan.

Thanks a bunch for the awesome info, guys. It sounds like Galtan definitely started his life as 'part of the problem', but now he seems sort of like an honorary member of 'real kaiju'. Or something.

Anyway, Baltan and Galtan both rule, and this series of toys kicks ass too.
