Rather than annoy you with multiple new posts of "hey, what's this?", I know I'll have questions about stuff I see on Celga, but don't know what they are. If you can please help me to identify these toys, I'd greatly appreciate your help :P

Ok, I just saw this guy tonight
Image
I would love to bid on him, he's only $10! But auction ends in 5 hours
Can someone please tell me what this is, so I can search for him the next time?
The description in the listing said "Limited Reissue-Marsan ROBOTTOHAKKU", and my "Engrish" isn't good. Cute guy! :)

Hmm...I'm not sure...though he looks familiar. I'm pretty sure he's not an Ultra/TOHO/Daiei figure.

Here's one on flickr...if someone can translate...

Hope you get it!

He's the robot from Captain Ultra (1967). He shows up a couple of times in this clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-rHEM_hs7M

I've seen his name listed as Huck and also as Hauk. If I can find the spelling in Japanese, I'll post it.

I think this should work as a search in YJP:

Robot Huck = ロボットハック、
Or, Huck = ハック、
Captain Ultra = キャプテンウルトラ

Good luck!

http://mononofu.hp.infoseek.co.jp/museum/marusan/cu/cu_st01_01.html

Entry in the 'vintage database' (a handy resource!) of the Marusan original.

I saw the auction that the top photo is taken from- the footstamp says "Bullmark" with a Bandai print stamp, which leads me to conclude that it is a B-Club reissue.

I couldn't find any pictures of the Bullmark original, but I'm guessing that this was a case where Bullmark reissued the original Marusan toy. Is this sort of correct?

It looks like Marmit made a version as part of their Vinyl Paradise line. Here's a link to an old YJA auction with pics of the Marmit figure:

uhh ohhh,,,the long slippery slope begins,,,,first yja searches   then a couple bids through celga   then the sell-off of western vinyl to fund yja purchases???

be forewarned that a $10 bid is actually $30 when factoring in celga fees...its starts getting more expensive than originally imagined,,,but it is oh so fun...enjoy

Thank you everyone! Boy you guys are good at this :P Thanks for all the info, the video was a treat to see :D . Yeppers, the JP toy fever is getting worse. Tomorrow Hubby and I are going to visit Super 7 and Kimono My House.

Thanks for the warning on the Celgas fees, I read most of the FAQs and figured it would be a bit more. Oop! I also should apologize for posting a live auction link. Sorry about that folks, I'll be more careful in the future. I just got carried away! Will let you know if I win or not! :D

P.S. Jebcrow, I only have a few western vinyls. I can't imagine selling them, I really like them! My first western piece was the little blue GID Pollard. ...and I thought western toys were expensive! :P
