UKsubs and OpIvy are both incredible bands. while I haven't followed rancid much past their fourth album, they were tied for my favorite band in sophomore year of high school (they might be giants being the other band). |

The Subs weren't very fond of Lars, they left him at an airport just to get rid of him and Lint caused all sorts of mayhem on the east coast with his amorous advances. They are a funny lot. I liked the first album and a few along the way. But tend to go off bands when I go off the members. An exception might be Social D, no matter how big a dick Ness might be, I still like them |

Well you might appreciate the Clash anyway, the songs, melodies and chord structures are largely the same as rancid (seeing as Rancid lifted them) but done with far more intelligence, sophistication, and talent. Lyrically if you like things on the light side then Rancid are like the Clash if Joe Strummer had been lobotomized prior to writing Clash lyrics. |
