First off, thanks to Bert for providing me the set of pachi cards.
You can view the whole set here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/fiendsaint ... 759997804/
I'm curious though, which of these monsters have been made into vinyl toys.

The ones I recognize are:

These three are part of Ilanena's Dai Kaiju Card Monsters Set.
Here's the upcoming Ilanena x Kaiju Korner version.

Emupaiya also has vinyl versions of these:

Anyone have a good pic of these three from Emupaiya together?

Is this a Zagora(n)?

And it'd be great if someone can help translate all their names.

These characters are free license, is that correct?

Ziradon?
I was going through the same list in my head but never got around to marking them off. There used to be a website that listed these cards along with another couple sets but the link seems dead now (404).

Thanks Joe these are really cool. One of my favorites is the big ear of corn with Mickey Mouse ears.

Zag guy is Jiradon and Micky Mouse Corncob is Beshyura. I was translating them all but I accidentally hit refresh when I was almost done on my post and don't feel like doing it again

Love these cards. I posted a comment on Joe's flickr, but if someone could translate the name of the one in my avatar, I would be very appreciative. I absolutely love the character design and it's silly that I don't know the name of it.

It's a really weird name to write in English, phonetically Oh-Ah-Pee-Aaah. Romanji: Oapiaa

Toy is Ultraman's Jamilla and the card monster is Morisu Seijin though I can only imagine it is inspired by the Ultra kaiju what with the pig nose and cracks in the body. I don't know about that perm though...

I don't think so. I was told that the cards were originally included in packages of Kewpie mayonnaise. I believe Ilanena pays some sort of license fee to Kewpie.

Seems to me that there was another, earlier set of cards - similar, but not the same. If I can track them down, I will try to post them here. Maybe from pulog1.exblog.jp/? I can't remember.

I was remembering something else. They appear to be trading cards, rather than playing cards. I think these have shown up around here before. You can see them by clicking the next arrows, starting here: http://jumbow.main.jp/5en/tobozu.html

Here are a couple of them (the monsters seem to not like cars or boats):

I love those last two cards, these two amapro dudes were clearly inspired by them:

And the top card looks very similar to Gebora by Target Earth, at least as far as the body shape and eyes (mouth parts different).

Ilanena is in fact paying for the rights to make these figures.

Thanks for the info guys. I wonder how the cost of licensing characters from forgotten mayonnaise premiums compares to Toho or Tsubaraya characters.

I just got my first Ilanena set the other day, so I've been looking for good resources on the cards. It seems like no one has posted a picture of the backs of the playing cards. Were they printed on the back?

This link shows the cards and the box, as well as some other card sets.
