Post subject:  Pilot Ace/Beagle Cyclops question
Thanks to Scott (stealthtank) I can cross this long want off my list. Great figure. Recently looking at older pics from last summer on flickr though I've noticed something that I'm not sure anyone else did. There are three versions of this guy. The normal release, the limited Wonderfestival release which was yellowish/orange, and a third one seen here:

notice the double horn action on top, mouth is a little more open, and club. the club is friggin awesome (really want one). Anyone have this guy or is it just a proto never made?

Yeah really like this figure myself- was gonna jump it in stealth's sale but have no dough! Its Ray Harryhausen isnt it? Harryhausen is God.

Hmmm...never noticed the second horn in that pic...strange because Harryhausen's cyclops did use a club at one point in the movie but was never shown having 2 horns.

I don't know the answer but I would love to have the club version too!

This was a colab between Beagle & Pilot Ace...isn't Beagle toys now out of business?

Sounds like Beagle is a different entity than Pilot Ace from what was discussed in this thread...

Actually - if you watch the Movie real carefully (that would be The 7th Voyage of Sinbad for you young-ins out there) - the first Cyclops they encounter on the mountain - the one that tries to have them for lunch - is a single horned one. Later in the movie - the one that fights the Dragon - it is a larger one and has two horns.

I have this on blu ray too...just never noticed that :oops:

Can you also ask about the Kali that was advertised? I would love to see this line continued in some fashion, but, unless I missed something, it's been awfully quiet since the Ymir came out. And no news seems like bad news in this case.

The detective work here never ceases to amaze me. Also the japanese never forget even minor details. Wow. I really hope they make the cyclops double horn club version (and psstt find some hidden back stock of the yellow festival version) :wink:

Here they are together...looks like 2 horn is giving 1 horn a few pointers on being a terrifying cyclops...

Pilot Ace I think for sure finished so probably no more Harryhausen. :(

There are two colorways of the Cyclops and the Fire Dragon and only one of the Ymir. From asking the two horned Cyclops didn't make it.

Beagle is a seperate entity. They used to produce kits and figures but I am not sure about what he's up to now, he's a funny guy and you never know what he is thinking.

Seeing Red Yoda's cyclops made me check mine. I have an X-plus 1 horned cyclops, along w/ dragon & Ymir. For scale, the cyclops is about 10" - 11" (which means the dragon is BIG). They released some smaller ones, too - maybe the 2 horned was the smaller version?

Anyway, I like the PA versions better - I have hung onto my X-plus guys, but I would have prefered them to be less 'realistic'.
