| Post subject: | Question re payment by mail |
I am interested in a couple of figures from a Japanese store. They are a regular store and have a website too. They accept international orders - you email them what you want, they figure out the total costs with shipping, and then write back. The thing that confuses me is that they have said they don't accept credit cards (or PayPal) and want me to send them the payment in yen by EMS. Do I use a certified check, a money order, or what? Can I even get a money order in yen? (I have never gone through the process of getting either a certified check or a money order before.) Has anybody done this before? Am I just dumb? Or what? |

You can now get an International Postal Money Order at the post office. Just convert the yen price to dollars and buy one for that amount. Make sure you double-check with the store first, you need to have the exact address of the company or individual, otherwise they will have problems cashing it. |

Yep International Postal money order's are the way to go. I've had a similar experience ordering from a store called Tidal Wave in Japan. Though they were kind enough to send me a bill in US Dollars. |
