Jeezus, it's like you guys are JFK conspiracy theorists around here...
The White Light/White Heat version was 10+3, just like all the releases. 10 GID painted, each a different paint scheme, and 3 "Warhol's ghost" version, unpainted GID w/white hair.
Shigeru did part of the run as a lottery, the rest were for me to give as bonus to folks who bought a painting at the show.

Was this announced beforehand or just a nice surprise after you bought a painting?

Good question, I remember reading somewhere here that these wouldn't have made the gallery due to the markup...

That's why they were gifts, and I seriously doubt anyone bought a painting to get a nag - most of them had never seen or heard of a nag before.

Well yeah, I doubt anyone spent 18k to get a Nag.

Oy vey, I give up.

I don't know why you bother either tbh.

You come to this 'community', where most of us are 'friends',
showing off (something a previous member was oft slated for)
your hugeass & sometimes tasteless toy pics.

Most recently of a toy which you know 90% of people here would like,
but which you then proceed to mysteriously "give away"
with your 3rd-year-college-student-level etchings
that you know noone here can afford.

Oh wait! Did I say noone? Well, perhaps there are a few,
so you just don't inform them of how the sale will take place.

But, dem fanbois! :D
Oh well, at least the rest of us know who the KR kiddies are.

Alice's Guide On HOW TO DO ART PROPERLY:

(1) Learn to draw hands.
(This is tough. I gave up art when my teacher told me my fingers looked like penises.)

(2) Get an imagination.

You seem to have (1) down, I must admit,
but perhaps a little work on (2) wouldn't go amiss?

You make a profession out of plagiarising the work of others,
then get your panties in a twist when someone (a member of this community)
makes a "fan-art" wood-block print of one of "YOUR" designs?
For shame sir!

"Plagiarism is necessary", as Lautréamont said.
I would add: "But not all the time".

How about making your own toy?
You've painted the "visible" Hedorah I believe
but, to the best of my knowledge, noone's actually MADE one yet.
It's just a suggestion.
It would be a start.
Even better would be having an idea of your fucking own for once.

tl;dr: GTFO of my Skullbrain,

kthxbai.

FYI personal attacks are best directed via pm and add nothing of value to this forum. only the toy companies themselves can be faulted for lack of produce to fill demand. why make something so cool then keep it so limited when everyone knows this would be well received as a preorder open edition.

talk to Shig, Stu ask him to make more for those of us that can not afford aftermarket prices nor care to pay those prices. i do not entirely disagree with all the things you addressed here but one thing seems crystal clear that your 'beef' is personal and not 'community' oriented. you are not the fucking Lorax.

if all you are trying to do is a flame war, again you are not making any effort to raise standards or values on here. to invoke 'KR' is an oxymoron as what you are doing here is what those folks are always accused of. that shit is old man and you know damn well starting a conflict here will end in thread lock.

so go ask Shig why most of us can not obtain his 'toy' tell him and quit making this more difficult for those us that like the toy without the hype attached. at least Bemon makes decent sized runs on his toys and is approachable regardless of the rumors started here of all places.

if you honestly want to do something for this forum and you want folks to consider you a 'friend' then send email to Shig right now and let him know. otherwise you are just another clown acting a fool to bring attention to yourself and make this political.

this goes for you too Coop, LS & Greg.. tell Shig 'we' want more.

otherwise its only going to get more ugly and alienate folks who can not obtain this 'toy' and not to mention make the 'real fans' fat wads of cash when they bank their Nags which happens every damn release. i may be in a minority but when half or more of ones product is flipped i find that to be abject failure.

and now a Pushead release for 10 fans, maybe its me that should give up and quit. but again its not his baby it is Shig who sets the editions. if this is his desire then so be it otherwise if he cared about folks enjoying his 'toy' and heard how many folks would like one he would make more. real fans do real shit.

I'm going to regret ever chiming in on this, but this is the way I see it:

NagNagNag is Shigeru's baby, and COOP, Greg and L'amour are like the great, crazy uncles that get to take turns taking care of it. They have collabed on a toy they like, created header art to their liking, and giving us a taste of what they like and how they see it through their interpretations.

And hell, the whole shindig is all self-produced from Shig, and the amount of time and money he's getting back from these, well, I'm sure it's not much. Probably barely covering the initial cost.

We are the cause of the hype, the outrageous prices, and all of the controversy.

What about the 2-headed Bemons going on YJA right now? It's kind of riding in the same boat, but I don't see anyone complaining...

It's not about pleasing every one of us. If anything, it's about them and they are making what they want.
If you can get one, if you can't, it's not their mission.
COOP can do what he wants with it, L'amour and Greg can do what they want with their release, and Shig can do whatEVER they heck he wants.
It's like a personal art project. Doing it for yourself.

So, all in all, I kind of what to conclude by saying: Suck it up & Enjoy the ride.

Yes, please let Shig know there are toy collectors that like Nag for the sculpt and paints, but not the hype. A production run would be well received, I'm gessing, and it wouldn't necessarily need painted by a popular artist, have hair, clothes, or even unpainted mixed parts.

Of course, a production run would probably decrease the value of some of the Nags that have already been released. But, that shouldn't matter because collectors buy them because we like them, right?

They've all been production runs until this set of GID's, what do you mean by that?

NagNagNag is doing fine as a topless stripper. No need to take the panties off or get into porn... I'm still waiting for a lapdance

I am not going to ask Shig to do anything. Its his toy and he will do whatever he wants.

I still do not have a 2 headed bemon but I would never email Hiddy or Hikaru to please ask Lord Bemon to make more available to people

More specifically, a made to order production run that would give collectors a limted time to order one. Wishful thinking, perhaps.

Those glow Nags from the recent lottery are amazing. The half-painted one is my favorite.

Well I wouldn't consider the Nagballs a production run (being essentially 20 one-offs).
I agree with the fact that Shig decides who does what but tbh from a personal standpoint as soon as I see Coop or Mishka headers (as much as I like LS's work) I kind of lose interest in the release. I'd really like to see what Shig can come up with through the presentation (especially considering how skilled he seems to be) and all I've been seeing for quite a while is Coop or Mishka which I feel have little to do with how Nag started off. I can understand the occasional colab but this seems to be essentially with every release. Just my personal opinion. No personal beef with anyone but to see Coop headers on Nag makes them feel... old?

yes it is locked, yes Alice, you went way too far. Yes Nags are hard to get, no different than the Bemon Insiders and Anraku Insiders before them. I think everyone needs to go have a snowcone and relax. These are toys, the sooner you enjoy them instead of freaking out about them you will be okay. (On all sides, producer, collaborator and consumer.)
