Max Toy has a new Tripus release of clear vinyl w/ a rainbow paintjob by Goto-san. Looks pretty nice.

I always love to watch others technique in action. Wish I could paint like that.

I think the Tripus is Chinese vinyl. Not on par w/ obitsu, but not bad (much better than the earlier 'clear' Eyzones). I asked mark awhile back 'why not j-vinyl' & he said he wanted to keep the price down (& it is the price of a fight figure). But I think he may be moving towards j-vinyl.

I got the last red super-painted Trips release (the first at $60), and the vinyl quality is top notch... indistinguishable from a comparable J-vinyl figure. The price is also stellar... I wish I could get other standard kaiju for $60. At least a hundred seems to have become the standard, and it's a shame, because that is a lot of money.

Side by side w/ the Dead Presidents release. Matt's paint has a metallic sheen & Goto-san's is clearer.

These are sweet all right. This is really the only "new" sculpt I still collect, and this is a worthy addition. Very "candy-colored" in person.

Great side by side picture. Sucks we missed it. Seeing Goto-san paint it was fun!
